At the onset of the new season, Purdue was seen as a potential dark horse challenger in the Big Ten West. Head coach Jeff Brohm chose to stay at West Lafayette instead of a bolt for his home of Louisville. Brohm led the Boilers to back to back bowl games and got a mega-contract to remain. Cause by this did Purdue fans and gamblers step out on the Boilermakers for college football betting games. All of which makes last week’s 34-31 loss at Nevada disappointing. Meanwhile, Vanderbilt was tough but outmanned in a 30-6 home loss to superpower Georgia.

Vanderbilt vs. Purdue Overview
Last week was more of the same for Vanderbilt. Georgia took apart Vandy 30-6 as 22-point road chalks. And UGA fans took over the stadium that became nearly all red. To illuminate the Commodores lack of offense remains an eyesore. By contrast, Purdue’s defense is a college football betting games liability. Consider the Boilermakers blew a 31-14 third-quarter lead at Nevada. Freshman Brandon Talton kicked a 56-yard game-winning field goal at the gun. He was awarded a full-ride scholarship in the locker room afterward. In sum, it was a gut-wrenching start to the season for Purdue.
Boiler Up?
Despite the painful loss at Nevada, there were some positives for Purdue. Quarterback Elijah Sindelar (34/52, 423 YDS, 4 TD, 2 INT) had a strong opening night performance. Superstar wide receiver Rondale Moore (11 REC, 124 YDS, 1 TD) validated himself as a sportsbook asset. Running-back Zander Horvath (19 ATT, 66 YDS) kept the defense honest. Of great concern is a defense that was unable to protect a large late lead. Brohm remains respected for his offensive mind. But to give away a sure win could prove costly.
Vandy Not so Dandy
At the beginning of their game against Georgia, it was obvious Vanderbilt was totally outclassed. The Commodores never head a chance. To show the Bulldogs outgained Vanderbilt 482-225 with a humiliating 30-6 first down advantage. In his sixth season on the job head coach Derek Mason is yet to develop a reliable offense. In brief that does not bode well for a matchup at Purdue.
