West Virginia at South Florida NCAA Football Betting

NCAA football betting on Friday is in the spotlight on ESPN 2 as South Florida hosts West Virginia in Big East play. The Mountaineers are unbeaten in the conference at 3-0 while South Florida is 1-2. The teams have split their four college football betting meetings in the past including both of the previous games at Raymond James Stadium. College football betting favors West Virginia in this game by about a field goal.

Last season it was West Virginia winning at home against South Florida by a score of 13-7. If South Florida is to pull off the College football betting upset they will have to contain West Virginia running back Noel Devine. He is now fifth on West Virginia’s career rushing list with 2,828 yards. In 32 career games, the junior is averaging 6.8 yards per rush. “When it gets tight No. 7 is getting the ball,” said offensive coordinator Jeff Mullen.  Devine has had at least 20 carries in three out of West Virginia’s last four games. During that time he has run for 592 yards and scored five touchdowns and West Virginia won all of those games.

Things start to get tough now for West Virginia. The combined college football betting record of West Virginia’s five remaining opponents is 26-10. West Virginia has not been that good of late in college football betting in Big East games. The Mountaineers are 3-7 vs. the College football betting number in their last 10 conference games. They have also struggled laying points. The Mountaineers are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games as a NCAA football betting favorite. Anytime they are laying points it is worth looking at the other side.

South Florida has been a pretty good underdog in college football betting. They are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games as an underdog. They have also been solid at home in college football betting as they are 13-6 ATS in their last 19 home games.

Since this is an ESPN 2 game the total will get some attention in college football betting. Five of the last seven West Virginia games have gone over the college football betting total. Nine of the last twelve home games for South Florida have gone over the NCAA football betting total. The last four times these two teams have met the game has gone under in NCAA football betting.
