West Virginia at Pitt SBG Odds Overview

West Virginia is a member of the Big 12 Conference, while Pitt is the defending champion of the Atlantic Coast Conference. But the schools are about an hour apart on the highway. In turn, both teams will have plenty of fans on hand to witness the renewal. And the sports betting action will be intense. Pitt will draw squares as the home team and defending ACC champions. Wise Guys will look at West Virginia as the capable rivalry underdog.

West Virginia Mountaineers Team Overview

So far, West Virginia head coach Neal Brown hasn’t been able to break through. But the production and the wins appear to be coming. Brown is 17-18 overall and 11-15 in the Big 12 over the last three seasons. Now, offensive coordinator Graham Harrell arrives from USC with plans for a big passing attack. This season might be the year West Virginia can break through. And become a bigger factor in the Big 12 conference title chase.
Additionally, with Harrell is JT Daniels. Previously, Daniels was a highly-prized recruit for USC that transferred to Georgia. He was second string to Stetson Bennett for Georgia’s 2021 national championship season.

Pitt Panthers Team Overview

Last year was the dream season long-suffering Pitt fans have waited for. The Panthers won the Atlantic Coast Conference championship. And quarterback Kenny Pickett was a Heisman Trophy finalist. But Pickett went to the Pittsburgh Steelers in the NFL. Also gone is superstar WR Jordan Addison. Anderson took the NIL riches of USC.

USC transfer QB Kedon Slovis might be a more talented player than Pickett. But that does not mean he’ll come up with the same production. Still, Slovis threw 30 touchdown passes as a freshman. Subsequently, he threw 17 touchdown passes in six games in 2020. But he took 2021 off as USC imploded. Thus, the quarterback situation will be good. Of great concern is losing 100 catches and 17 touchdowns of Addison.  Namely, Jared Wayne remains a big play target who caught 47 passes for 658 yards and six scores. Further help comes from Konata Mumpfield. Mumpfield is a transfer from Akron who caught 63 passes with eight TDs in 2021.
