At the beginning of the 2018 season, the 49ers were the hot and trendy NFL Bets futures pick. And Kyle Shanahan was being touted as the next pro football coaching genius. However, a host of injuries, lack of depth, and unrealistic expectations doomed San Francisco. Gamblers were burned by a 49ers team that went 4-12 straight up and just 5-11 against the spread. Yet it is that horrible season in which everything went wrong that could make San Francisco a top 2019 value. Not to mention Shanahan as a clear betting favorite for Coach of the Year.

2019 NFL Coach of the Year Overview
Now there are a host of top candidates that have a realistic shot at paying off with NFL Bets as Coach of the Year. Gamblers are eyeing Shanahan and the 49ers as a comeback tandem. At the same time, there are some familiar names that are obvious and potential overlays. Sean McVay of the Rams is a great example. Los Angeles has gone from an upstart to established power. Kansas City Andy Reid and Seattle’s Pete Carroll are other great coaches that offer little in value. Balanced against that are some coaches that potentially line up well for 2019.
Kyle Shanahan – San Francisco 49ers
Murphy’s Law prevailed with the 49ers in 2018 as anything that could go wrong did go wrong. As a result, it is realistic to expect some type of sportsbook value correction for 2019. In view of the 49ers lack of proven reliability stepping out on them could still prove to be dangerous. Owing to Jimmy Garoppolo being unverified as a full season starting quarterback come additional concerns.
Matt LaFleur – Green Bay Packers
In a similar way, there could be a big NFL Bets upswing with the Packers in 2019. Green Bay and starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers tuned out former head coach Mike McCarthy long ago. For this reason, the Packers have under-performed. Enter new head coach Matt LaFleur. If timing is everything LaFleur and the Pack could benefit. Fashion that Aaron Rodgers is eager for LaFleur’s new voice and outlook. And that the Packers feel refreshed with is arrival. Additionally, the NFC North is highly winnable. Overall, it could be a perfect storm on the Frozen Tundra of Lambeau Field.
Frank Reich – Indianapolis Colts
Namely, one good coach that may be an overlay is Frank Reich. Indianapolis improved from 4-12 to 10-6 in Reich’s rookie season of 2018. He nearly won Coach of the Year last year. By contrast, the expectations for the Colts are now sky high. The secret is out. Any value that Reich would have offered is now gone.
Dan Quinn – Atlanta Falcons
Just two years ago the Falcons were defending NFC champions. But they are yet to live down their epic Super Bowl collapse against the New England Patriots. Quinn is coaching for his job and will call offensive plays this year. Quarterback Matt Ryan gives Quinn and the Falcons a shot at redemption!
