First player taken in the NFL Draft is favored to be Caleb Williams. The Chicago Bears are the NFL Draft Odds favorite to take Williams as their latest apparent savior as QB. But the biggest question for gamblers is who will go second. Concurrently, LSU QB Jayden Daniels and North Carolina QB Drake Maye are the favorites as the second player taken. But other prospects could offer more wagering value as potential number two overall picks. Namely, JJ McCarthy and Marvin Harrison Jr stand a reasonable chance to go second in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Jayden Daniels
Consider Jayden Daniels is the only player in FBS history to pass for 12,000 yards and rush for 3,000 yards. He gets the ball out quickly when he likes the pre-snap look. Also, he gets through his progressions given time and flashes great anticipation, throwing over the middle. Daniels’ completion percentage has steadily improved over the past four seasons. And he is accurate on tape. Daniels also extends plays, and he’s one of the most dangerous runners in the class. In turn, that is regardless of position. Daniels is quick, has good contact balance, and shows pull-away speed.
Drake Maye
Maye extends NFL Draft betting plays and locates receivers late. He adjusts his arm angle when necessary and makes impressive off-platform throws. Additionally, Maye is tough and willing to take a hit to make a play. He routinely makes plays under duress. Maye can thread the needle and lead receivers to yards after the catch when his footwork is sound. Also, he throws with a strong base from within the pocket. May is a threat to scramble for first downs, too, and pick up yards on designed quarterback runs.
JJ McCarthy
Overall, McCarthy finished his college career with a 27-1 online betting record as a starter. He can throw into tight windows and against zone looks. Also, he can complete passes against press-man coverage thanks to his anticipation, accuracy, and arm strength. McCarthy keeps his eyes downfield and makes some impressive throws. McCarthy is accurate when he knows he’s going to take a big hit. Furthermore, McCarthy extends plays and throws well on the run. He has a good feel for when to scramble. Finally, McCarthy is a threat to run for first downs on designed quarterback rushes.
Marvin Harrison Jr
Harrison punishes teams that try to cover him one-on-one. He’s a polished route runner who creates leverage with his release and the way he stems his routes. He’s also an automatic open-field runner with the burst to threaten after the catch. Harrison tracks the ball well and makes over-the-shoulder catches look easy. He is a big target and has the sure hands, body control, and frame to come down with 50-50 balls downfield and in the red zone. Marvin Harrison Jr. also has a good feel for how to attack zone looks.
