NFC

The NFC won last year’s Pro Bowl 20-13.  The all time Pro Bowl series is tied with 22 wins for each conference with the NFL Pro bowl lineThe Pro Bowl rules force more basic offensive and defensive formations. The more creative offenses and elaborate defenses that are seen in regular games are illegal in the Pro Bowl.

The NFC has plenty of sportsbook online firepower.  The NFC assets begin with the quarterback tandem of Russell Wilson and Drew Brees.  Wilson is the Super Bowl champion quarterback of the Seattle Seahawks.  Wilson will make his fourth Pro Bowl appearance.  Brees is also a Super Bowl champion quarterback from the New Orleans Saints.  Brees is in the Pro Bowl for the 11th time.  Another key asset for the NFC that will keep the defense honest is Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley.  Gurley ran for 1305 yards but also caught 64 passes.  Brees will have the familiarity advantage of teammates Mark Ingram and Alvin Kamara as NFC running backs.  The NFC is coached by Sean Payton of the Saints.  Payton won a Super Bowl with the Saints.  Payton has an AP Coach of the Year Award.

AFC

The AFC has plenty of talent in its own right.  Veteran quarterbacks Ben Roethlisberger and Philip Rivers have the firepower to take any game.  Roethlisberger has won two Super Bowls with the Pittsburgh Steelers.  This is Big Ben’s sixth Pro Bowl appearance.  Rivers is a seven time Pro Bowler form the San Diego Chargers.  Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin leads the AFC.  Tomlin has won a Super Bowl and two AFC titles with Pittsburgh.  Tomlin and Roethlisberger will have the services of Steelers running back LeVeon Bell.  Pittsburgh wide receiver Antonio Brown will offer Roethlisberger a familiar target.

Matchup to Watch.

This game features the best of the best players and coaches with the NFL Pro bowl line.  Based on the Pro Bowl game rules its important to focus on the quarterbacks.  This game should offer enough entertainment to keep fans and gamblers happy.  An emphasis on offense and passing is a reasonable expectation.  The Pro Bowl will never match the physicality or intensity of a regular NFL game.  That being said a return to Conference play has improved the quality.  Brees and Wilson should make the difference for the NFC.

AFC vs. NFC Prediction

The NFC is the pick based on the dynamic quarterbacking tandem of Brees and Wilson.
