2025 Baltimore Ravens NFL Draft Team Preview
Since taking over in 2008, Harbaugh led the Ravens to the 2012 Super Bowl championship and 12 playoff appearances. The AFC is tough, especially with the Kansas City Chiefs winning it most seasons lately. In turn, that won’t make the Baltimore Ravens feel better.
Lamar Jackson is still seeking his first sportsbook trip to the Super Bowl. Certainly, this postseason ended with a huge disappointment, as a potential game-tying 2-point conversion was dropped by tight end Mark Andrews. And the Bills held on to win.
Jackson could have been the NFL MVP again. Derrick Henry had a remarkable first season in Baltimore. On the other hand, the defense was excellent after some midseason adjustments. Yet it still wasn’t enough.
The Ravens have had one of the most consistent 2025 NFL futures franchises in the NFL over the past couple of decades. Their front office always seems to have the right move to fill the gaps left by departing free agents. But the challenge comes after watching a fantastic offense and a surging defense come up short. Now the focus is on how to get Jackson to the Super Bowl finally.
Baltimore Ravens 2025 NFL Draft Summary
Baltimore’s top three needs are Edge, DT, and S. Specifically, this has the makings of a defense-heavy draft. The Ravens have signed only one notable defensive player in free agency: backup cornerback Chidobe Awuzie.
Although Baltimore finished second in the NFL with 54 sacks, the Ravens are expected to prioritize edge rushers. Cause by Kyle Van Noy is 34, and Odafe Oweh is scheduled to be a free agent next year. Also, Baltimore has to address a thin defensive line after nose tackle Michael Pierce retired.
Meanwhile, Brent Urban remains unsigned. And the Ravens could look to upgrade from free safety Ar’Darius Washington, the only projected starter in the secondary who was not a first-round pick.
Namely, the prospect to fill a need outside Round 1 is Andrew Mukuba, S, Texas. The versatile Texas safety had five interceptions in 2024 and would be the ultimate running mate with Kyle Hamilton in the back end of the Ravens’ defense.
The Ravens had the right idea, adding DeAndre Hopkins’s skill set. But he’s past his prime and struggled to make an impact during the Chiefs’ playoff run.
Perhaps they can draft a big-body wideout capable of winning contested catches to complement the 5’9″ Zay Flowers, who’s more of a burner. Naturally, Baltimore has a loaded roster. But it needs a game-changer to take pressure off Lamar Jackson.
Especially during the playoffs. Jackson has had back-to-back historic seasons. And the Ravens don’t have a Super Bowl appearance to show for it. They need rookies to hit the ground running to make the most of this Super Bowl window.
