At the beginning of the Bengals new season, one change will be immediately noticeable. Head coach Marvin Lewis departed after leading the franchise from 2003 through 2018. Three straight losing seasons without a playoff berth caused the parting of ways. Starting with head coach Zac Taylor will be a new Cincinnati era. Taylor arrives from the Rams where he was quarterback coach under Sean McVay. Of course, McVay became one of the hottest names in NFL betting and his assistants are in high demand. Seattle makes for a difficult maiden voyage for a rookie head coach.

Bengals at Seahawks Overview
Last year the Bengals had an NFL betting record of 6-10 straight up, 9-7 vs. the odds, and 8-6-2 over the total. Cincinnati had ugly metrics in 2018. Consider the Bengals ranked 26th for total offense and dead last for total defense. Seattle finished 10-6 straight up, 9-5-2 against the spread and 9-7 over the total. Overall the Seahawks ranked 18th for total offense and 16th for total defense. Cincinnati last made the playoffs in 2015. Contrarily Seattle has made the playoffs in six of the last seven seasons. They lost in the wild card round in 2018.
Zac Attack
Now Zac Taylor does inherit an experienced veteran quarterback. Andy Dalton returns for his ninth pro season, all with Cincinnati. Dalton posted an 89.6 rating last year with a 22/11 touchdown to interception ratio. Indeed, his missing five games last year was a major factor in the Bengals demise. Running back Joe Mixon is another key asset. Mixon ran for 1168 yards in 2018 with 6.9 yards-per-carry and a touchdown. Accordingly, Tyler Boyd was Dalton’s favorite target. Boyd had 76 catches for 1028 yards and seven touchdowns.
For Pete’s Sake
To be exact head coach Pete Carroll has made Seattle into a profitable offshore bookmaker team. But there is a sense that the Seahawks have peaked. Namely quarterback Russell Wilson continues to man the marquee. Wilson posted a 110.9 rating last year with a 35/7 TD/INT ratio. Running back Chris Carson will lend a helping hand. Carson ran for 1151 yards in 2018. Tyler Lockett was Seattle’s top receiver with 965 yards and 10 touchdowns.
