The online NFL betting season is right around the corner, which means that the time to bet on NFL is finally here.
Week 1 of the NFL won’t actually begin until September, but that doesn’t mean that online NFL betting players should be taking a leisurely approach to the little time we have left. Instead, bettors should be looking over the best betting opportunities, especially in Week 1.
With that in mind, let’s take a look at the best betting options available for NFL fans right off the bat.
Kansas City Chiefs at New England Patriots
This is the 2017 online NFL betting season’s kickoff game, pitting the reigning Super Bowl champions against a worthy opponent.
The Patriots enter this season as the odds on favorites to win it all, and that likely won’t change – regardless of the outcome of this contest. New England will enter the game as the sportsbook odds favorite and they’re the ones who will have to prove the most.
Patriots -7 ½ (-105) 48 ½ (-110)
Chiefs +7 ½ (-115) 48 ½ (-110)
This will also be an opportunity for the Chiefs to demonstrate what kind of team they’ll be this season.
Baltimore Ravens at Cincinnati Bengals
There’s no better way to kick off than with a rivalry and there are few rivalries that can compete with this bitter AFC North matchup.
The Ravens were considered to be playoff contenders heading into last year’s season, but ineffectiveness on behalf of Joe Flacco would lead to a disappointing 8-8 finish.
The Bengals put forth a very similar result. Cincinnati had been flirting with the playoffs for several years now, but crumbled last season as they finished 6-9. Now both teams will have the opportunity to prove that last year’s results were nothing but a fluke, as both rivals try to outdo each other.
Ravens +2 (-105) 43 (-110)
Bengals -2 (-115) 43 (-110)
The Bengals come into the contest as the betting favorites, but who will actually win is anybody’s guess.
Philadelphia Eagles at Washington Redskins
Keeping in line with division rivalries, the matchup between the Eagles and the Redskins is one online NFL betting fans will not want to miss.
The Eagles had the hottest start to the 2016 season of any team in the league, but they quickly fell out of the air afterwards. The problem was that most of Philadelphia’s talent had very little experience – Carson Wentz comes to mind. Now, after a full season of playtime, it stands to reason that we can expect bigger and better things out of Philadelphia in 2017.
Eagles +2 (-110) 48 ½ (-110)
Redskins -2 (-110) 48 ½ (-110)
Washington had a very dynamic offense last season, and there’s no reason to expect any changes on that front. However, Washington was a complete mess on defense last season, and there’s no doubt that a little improvement on behalf of the secondary would go a long way for the franchise.
