Following their 2015 world championship season, the Denver Broncos have never been the same. Import quarterback Peyton Manning retired as a champion. And ever since the Broncos have been in search of his replacement. Last season Denver claimed to have solved the problem by acquiring Case Keenum from Minnesota. Keenum led the Vikings to the NFC Championship Game the previous year. However, Keenum’s arrival did not bring betting on NFL success. Keenum’s quarterback rating dropped 17 points top 81.2. His 18/15 touchdown to interception ratio was a disaster. Further, his 6.6 yards per attempt was not up to par.

Broncos Go Bust in 2018
Second year head coach Vance Joseph was dealt a bad hand at Denver. Without a legitimate quarterback, the Broncos were helpless in the AFC West. Denver finished 6-10 straight up, 6-9-1 against the spread, with only three games going over the total. Overall the Broncos lacked any true betting on NFL strength. Denver finished 19th for total offense and 24th for scoring. Defensively they were 22nd overall. As a result, Vic Fangio takes over as head coach. Fangio was Bears defensive coordinator the past four seasons. And Joe Flacco arrives from Baltimore as the new quarterback.
Enter Flacco
Certainly, Joe Flacco is remembered for leading the Baltimore Ravens to a win in Super Bowl XLVII over San Francisco. He was the Most Valuable Player of that game. But in recent years Flacco has been more of an online betting liability. Flacco has thrown for 20 touchdown passes just once in the last four seasons. Last season he lost his starting gig to rookie Lamar Jackson. In 2018 Flacco posted rather ordinary numbers starting with an 84.2 QB rating. His yards per attempt was a lackluster 6.5. A 12/6 touchdown to interception ratio was hardly impressive.
Lindsay Powers the Offense
One asset that could help keep pressure off Flacco is Pro Bowl running back Philip Lindsay. Namely, Lindsay is a local hero dating to his college days with the Colorado Buffaloes. Lindsay ran for 1037 yards, 5.4 yards per carry, and nine touchdowns in 2018. Additionally, he caught 35 passes for 241 yards and a TD. Correlate his ability to keep defenses honest. This could open things up for a resurgent year by Flacco.
Sanders and Sutton
Emmanuel Sanders and Courtland Sutton figure to be two of Flacco’s top targets. Fashion that Sanders is a two-time Pro Bowler. Sanders has cleared the 1000 receiving yardage mark three times at Denver. In 2018 he caught 71 passes for 868 yards and four touchdowns. Along the same lines, Sutton impressed all as a rookie last year. Sutton had 42 catches for 704 yards and four touchdowns.
2019 Denver Broncos Defense
All-Pro linebacker Von Miller leads a defense that should improve under Fangio. Further defensive help should come from Pro Bowl cornerback Chris Harris Jr. Of great concern is the AFC West. Specifically, the favored Kansas City Chiefs are betting on NFL offensive machine.
2019 Denver Broncos Betting on NFL Picks
On the whole, Denver is likely to show improvement for 2018. Yet a playoff season remains a tall order.
