Brett Favre Saga Begins Again

NFL betting lines are going to be impacted yet again by the decision on whether or not Brett Favre retires. The quarterback had an excellent season for the Minnesota Vikings until a bad pass that cost the Vikings a chance to win the NFC Championship game against the New Orleans Saints. The Vikings will be one of the NFL betting lines favorites for next year’s Super Bowl in NFL odds with Favre but more of a longshot without him.

NFL betting lines are probably not going to move on the futures board anytime soon since no one really knows what Favre is going to do.  Last year he waffled right up until the preseason.  Very few people who look at NFL odds are going to believe anything he says this time.  Minnesota head coach Brad Childress said there is no timetable on Favre making a decision although the Vikings would like to know before the NFL Draft.

Favre has said he will not take months to decide like he did a year ago.  Most people surrounding the Vikings do not believe that Favre will return next NFL betting lines season.  Favre has said that it is unlikely he will return but he didn’t make that official after Sunday’s loss. “I know people are rolling their eyes or will roll their eyes,” he said. “In a situation like this, I really don’t want to make a decision right now based solely on what happened (Sunday).”

Until his interception against the Saints, Favre was having one of the best years of his NFL odds career.  He made the Pro Bowl, although he will not play due to injury, and led Minnesota to within a play of the Super Bowl in NFL betting lines. The Vikings were 12-4 straight up this season and 9-6-1 against the NFL betting lines. Favre threw for over 4,000 yards this season and his TD to interception ratio was excellent. The Vikings were second in the NFL in points scored as NFL odds stats showed, 6th in total yards and 8th in passing yards this past season with Favre at the helm.  Many who look at NFL betting lines were calling this Favre’s best year in his storied career.  One bad pass at the end though ended the Minnesota NFL betting lines season and it may have ended Favre’s career.
