Week 2 NFL is here and we preview the Thursday night NFL on the 17th of September 2015 between the Broncos of Denver playing at the Chiefs of Kansas City with the game being played at the Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri with the kick-off scheduled for 8:30 PM ET and seen on CBS TV.
The opening odds at SBG for those that Bet on NFL at an Online sportsbook has the Chiefs favored at -3 -120 with the Over/under at 42 and -170 on the Money Line, while the underdog Broncos are +3 EV and +150 on ML.
In their last game the Broncos QB P. Manning played the whole game without passing for a TD, and that indicates something isn’t correct. Yes, the Broncos managed to beat the Ravens of Baltimore even considering the poor showing by QB P. Manning. Now with that game history the Broncos had just 4 days to prepare for this match-up with the Chiefs of KC, as the Chiefs seek to be 2-0 when this game is finished.
If you’re a Broncos fan of Denver, your new Coach G. Kubiak got a win in his first start, but it was nothing to write home about as they beat the Ravens 19-13 at home. Coach Kubiak who is known to love the running game, but his team only managed to rush for 70 yards. The running game was led by R. Hillman had 12 carries for 41 yards and C. Anderson had 12 carries for just 29 yards. Hopefully the running game will do better against the Chiefs who last season were the leagues worst against the run. So it was the Broncos defense that kept them in the win column to start this 2015 season.
Also the Broncos passing game led by QB P. Manning struggled as Manning only completed 24 of his 40 attempts for 175 yards without a TD and was intercepted once.
As the offense of the Broncos failed to score a TD, and trailing the Chiefs late in the 3rd quarter, the defense and DB A. Talib intercepted Ravens QB J. Flacco and returned it for a 51 yard TD which gave the Broncos the 15-13 lead in the game. The Broncos defense limited the Ravens to 220 yards in total for the game, and allowed QB Flacco just 118 passing yards and intercepted him on 2 occasions. The Broncos with their defensive players in Talib, Ware, and Miller have what it take to halt the Chiefs passing game.
If the Broncos can get their offense up to speed, QB Manning should be able to complete his passing game as the Chiefs this past Sunday allowed the Texans of Houston some 296 total passing yards.
For you Chiefs of Kansas City fans, we wonder if your TE T. Kelce will have another great game as against Houston he scored 2 TD’s and had 6 catches for 108 yards as the Chiefs beat the Texans of Houston 27-20.
Also playing well for the Chiefs was QB A. Smith who passed for 3 TD’s and 244 yards and without an interception in the game. RB J. Charles carried the ball some 16 times for a mere 57 yards, but he also had 5 receptions for 48 yards and 1 TD. The Chiefs were expecting more from offseason acquisition in receiver J. Maclin who was suppose to shine but had a mediocre game with 5 receptions for 53 yards in the game.
However, the defensive unit of the Chiefs struggled as the Texans out did the Chiefs 398 to 332 in total offense, but did have 4 sacks in the game, and that has defensive players A. Bailey and J. Houston excited as the Denver offensive line last Sunday also allowed their QB to be sacked some 4 times.
The prediction for this game is that Denver rediscovers its passing game, and Denver beat Kansas City
