Broncos Schedule Should Help Them vs. NFL Betting Odds

The Denver Broncos started great last season vs. the NFL betting odds but fell apart late, losing their last four games. They go into the 2010 season with a lot of optimism and those making an NFL bet on the Broncos could have some success since Denver has a favorable schedule.NFL betting odds don’t favor the Broncos in their season opener as they are at Jacksonville but Denver is just a 1.5 point underdog.  The Broncos can win their opener and they can also win in Week 2 as they host Seattle.

Denver needs to start 2-0 because they host the Indianapolis Colts in a tough matchup in Week 3 before going to Tennessee in Week 4 and Baltimore in Week 5.  The Broncos host the New York Jets in Week 5 and the Oakland Raiders in Week 7.  They will go to London for a game against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 8. What helps Denver is that they get a bye following the trip to London.  They then get to stay home in Week 10 as they host Kansas City.

The latter part of the season after Week 11 is favorable for Denver. The Broncos have to play at San Diego on Monday night in Week 11 but then they host St. Louis in Week 12. They do have a three-game road trip but they face three teams who are not that strong. They go to Kansas City, Arizona and Oakland in Weeks 13 and 14 and 15.  They host Houston and San Diego in Weeks 16 and 17.

Denver plays in the AFC West which is not considered the strongest division in the league by those making an NFL bet. San Diego has dominated the division in recent seasons and they are favored again but the Chargers did not improve in the off-season.  The Chiefs and Raiders do look improved but Denver is still capable of beating both of those teams.

The Broncos have a schedule that puts them in the mix in the playoff picture in the AFC.  They get to play teams from the NFC West this season and that division is considered the weakest in the NFL.  If Denver can take advantage by beating teams like St. Louis, Seattle, Arizona and San Francisco, they could challenge the Chargers for the division title this season.
