Cardinals Earn A-Grade to Top NFC Team in Draft

It is true that the Cardinals are the worst team in the NFL. So. they needed to acquire the best player available at every position. Arizona won’t be competitive this year, with Kyler Murray coming off a torn ACL. Obtaining prospects who can’t start in the short term but have a high upside for the long haul is ideal. Arizona accomplished its NFL odds mission at the 2023 NFL Draft. Of course, the Cardinals are a long shot for the 2023 NFL Playoffs. But the future is a lot brighter than it was before the draft.

Cardinals Fly High

Arizona moved from No. 3 to 12. But then shot up to No. 6 to obtain Paris Johnson. The Cardinals had to move to No. 6 to land Johnson. Especially with the Raiders planning to draft him. Johnson is essential to the Cardinals’ plans. Cause by Kyler Murray‘s inability to play a full season. Improved blocking is needed to ensure Murray can remain upright once he returns from his torn ACL.

Panthers Get Their Man – Bryce Young Goes First Overall

Two of the three picks used by Carolina Bryce Young were meant to help him somehow. Jonathan Mingo, the fifth receiver off the board, could end up Young’s No. 1 wideout. Although it’s more likely that he’ll be the second option down the road. Chandler Zavala, taken in the fourth round, should provide an upgrade in the interior of the offensive line.

Also, the Panthers found some help defensively. Their pass rush regressed with Haason Reddick joining the Eagles. Thus, that prompted the D.J. Johnson pick. Johnson is raw, so it’s unlikely he’ll make a big impact this year.

Overall, Carolina had an excellent draft. Nothing was exciting aside from the Young pick. But the Panthers did a solid job of addressing online betting needs and adding quality prospects.

Falcons Gamble With Bijan Robinson

Bijan Robinson is an outstanding running back prospect. However, the Falcons should not have drafted him. First-round running backs make sense for teams that are NFL-betting odds Super Bowl favorites. But Atlanta doesn’t qualify as such. Consider that Bijan Robinson will have some mileage on his legs when the Falcons are ready to make a playoff run.

Still, the Falcons made some quality selections during the second and third days of the draft. Matthew Bergeron could have been chosen in the first round. Yet Atlanta obtained him in the second frame to serve as a needed upgrade on the offensive line. Zach Harrison was a good choice in the third round to provide much-needed help to the pass rush. At the same time, Clark Phillips was a steal in the fourth to help the secondary.

As a result of these solid selections, Atlanta made up for its first-round gamble. The Falcons’ draft class could have been so much better had they focused more on improving their team for the long haul. Especially given that running back wasn’t even a need for them.
