The NFL betting spread favors the Washington Redskins, but the Arizona Cardinals can find ways to win when the Big Red visits the Burgundy and Gold. They say there are no ugly women, just strange beauties. That could apply to the Cards’ 12-7 win over the Titans on Sunday. “I know what everybody is going to say: ‘It’s an ugly win,’ ” Cardinals coach Bruce Arians said. “There is no damn thing. No such thing.” Arizona didn’t score a touchdown and gained just 64 yards in the first half. Quarterback Blaine Gabbert was sacked eight times. Not that he needed any help missing open receivers. The Cards didn’t just get lucky, though. The defense held the Titans to 65 rushing yards and Marcus Mariota to 159 passing yards.

Cards could go on another Under Run
Arizona picked Mariota off twice. Outside linebacker Chandler Jones sacked him once and hit him twice. “Our defense really stepped it up,” Jones said. “Buying into what the coaches are preaching, and guys were just making plays,” he added. The Cardinals held Derrick Henry to just 20 yards on eight carries and Demarco Murray to 34 yards on 11 totes. ““I don’t remember too many times in my time here where anybody has run the ball in this stadium against us,” Arians said. Added linebacker Josh Bynes: “We were just definitely sound defensively. We knew we had to stop the run, and once we stopped the run, we made them one-dimensional.”
All things considered, if this defense keeps showing up, the Cards could go on another under spree, as they did from weeks 7 to 10. The total had gone over in Arizona’s past three games, two of which were losses. Additionally they are Arizona is 1-5 ATS in its last six games on the road and 4-1 against the NFL betting spread in their last five games playing Washington.
D.J. Swearinger not surprised by Skins’ inability to win, cover
The Redskins have lost four of their five games. That includes the last two straight. Safety D.J. Swearinger talked to the press following Sunday’s 13-30 blowout to the Chargers. ““It’s not surprising at all to me. At all. If you don’t prepare well, you’re gonna fail. I don’t think we prepare well. … And it’s all of us, players and coaches,” he said. so while the Cards win ugly, the Skins lose ugly. As ugly goes, one will always take the former over the latter.
D.J. Swearinger repeatedly said #Redskins didn’t prepare well and the outcome of the game wasn’t a shock to him.

In addition to their SU woes, the Redskins have failed to cover the NFL betting spread in three of their last five games, including the last two in a row. And as said above, they have covered just once in their last five meetings with the Cards. They have won each of those five games, though.
