This Sunday the 30th of November week 13 of NFL, and after some great games on Turkey day, we have another good game with the 7-4 San Diego Chargers (2nd AFC West) playing at the 7-4 Baltimore Ravens (2nd AFC North) at 1 PM ET at the M&T Bank Stadium and seen on CBS.
The Baltimore Ravens are favored in this game at -6 (-115) with the O/U at 45 ½ and ML -270 with comeback ML on Chargers +230. This game Sunday starts a five game stretch for most NFL teams, also the beginning for the Ravens, coming off a 4 game win streak, and with a defense that gives their opponents problems. Both of these teams have aspirations for their division titles. However, the Chargers may have a more difficult time reaching that goal, as they still have to play the Ravens Sunday, New England, Denver, San Francisco and Kansas City.
The Chargers offensive leaders to date are QB Rivers, who has completed 248 of his 263 passes for 2,835 yards with 22 touchdowns with 9 interceptions, and a completion rate of 68.3 percent. RB’s Oliver & Matthews combined for 168 carries for 670 yards, with Oliver scoring 2 touchdowns and Matthews scoring 2 touchdowns. Receivers Allen & Floyd combined for 97 receptions for 1,245 yards with Allen scoring 2 touchdowns and Floyd scoring 4 touchdowns. San Diego has average scoring 22.3 points per game, while allowing opponents to score an average of 19.6 points per game, and they are 5-1 at home and 2-3 on road games.
Baltimore’s offensive leaders for the season thus far are QB Flacco, who has completed 237 of his 375 passes for 2,764 yards for 18 touchdowns with 8 interceptions, and a completion rater of 63.2 percent. RB’s Forsett & Pierce combined for 236 carries for 1,160 yards, with Forsett scoring 7 touchdowns and Pierce scoring 2 touchdowns. Receivers S. Smith & T. Smith combined for 85 receptions for 1,361 yards with S. Smith scoring 5 touchdowns and T. Smith scoring 6 touchdowns. The Baltimore Ravens have averaged scoring some 26.8 points per game, while allowing their opponents to score an average of 18.9 points per game, and they are 4-1 at home, and 3-3 on the road.
For the Ravens, their running game has permitted QB Flacco to pick his passing attempts, and enjoy his best rating of the 2014 season at 92 since back in 2010, when then he was at his career worst of 73.1. Take note that Baltimore has won their last 7 games in which QB Flacco has not given up an interception.
The Chargers have also won their last 8 games, in which QB Rivers has not given up an interception, and in this game if QB Rivers can guard the ball with the road atmosphere, he very well could have a great game, as the defense of Baltimore is ranked 29th at 264.6 against the passing game. The Ravens and the Chargers have each won 2 games of their last 4 meetings that were played at San Diego.
