NFL betting begins early this week with an NFL Network televised contest between the Chicago Bears and San Francisco 49ers. Get used to Thursday NFL games for most of the rest of the football betting season since NFL Network will have games almost every week. NFL betting has the 49ers a field goal favorite at home in this game. Neither team comes into the game playing well. The Bears have lost three of their last four to fall to 4-4 overall. They were routed at home last week in football betting by Arizona as their defense was torched for 41 points. Jay Cutler played well a week ago but it didn’t matter as the Bears gave up five touchdown passes to Kurt Warner. This NFL betting week will be a different test for the Bears as they face the running attack of San Francisco led by Frank Gore. Chicago could be without defensive tackle Tommie Harris who may be suspended for his punch against Arizona’s Duece Lutui. Harris was kicked out of the game last week and it is unlikely he will play on Thursday in this NFL betting game.
The Bears have lost their last five games at San Francisco and they are also 0-5 against the NFL betting pointspread. The teams have not met in San Francisco since 2003 when the 49ers won 49-7. Chicago really started the NFL betting season well but things have fallen apart. They can’t run the ball as Matt Forte is having a poor year and Cutler really has no receivers to throw to. Now the defense is playing poorly and that is a huge problem for the Bears in this football betting matchup against San Francisco.
The 49ers have unraveled even more than Chicago has. They have lost their last four games after starting the season at 3-1. Last week they were run over by Tennessee and running back Chris Johnson. Quarterback Alex Smith didn’t play well as threw three interceptions, fumbled twice and was sacked four times. Somehow the 49ers are still 5-2-1 against the NFL betting pointspread. They are just 2-2 against the football betting number at home.
This is a huge game for both teams if they want to stay part of the playoff picture in the NFC. It should be an intense game and that should make it a popular one to wager on, especially since it is on TV.
