Chiefs Scouting Report AFC Championship Game and Super Bowl Odds

Last Sunday night, the Kansas City Chiefs played a game for the ages. Perhaps it was the greatest game ever played. Patrick “The Magician” Mahomes rallied the Chiefs with 13 seconds remaining. Specifically, Mahomes connected on two passes to set up the game-tying field goal. Patrick carved up the Buffalo Bills for the winning TD drive in overtime. It was unlike anything ever seen with the NFL betting odds. Now Kansas City hosts the AFC championship game for a record-setting fourth consecutive season. Can the Chiefs refocus after their miraculous comeback win?

Kansas City Chiefs SBG Odds Overview

On the whole, there are few sports betting plays more popular than the Chiefs playing at Arrowhead. Oddsmakers know this and charge a premium price to run off the squares. However, most casuals don’t care about the price. Kansas City is a solid betting favorite against the upstart and young Cincinnati Bengals.

Head Coach Andy Reid

On the whole, Andy Reid ranks with the late great Hall of Famer Hank Stram as the greatest coach in Chiefs history. Like Stram, Reid has led Kansas City to two Super Bowls and one world championship. Reid is an offensive innovator as Stram was. And he gets the most out of a Hall of Fame quality quarterback. Len Dawson piloted the Chiefs for Stram. While Patrick Mahomes is the superstar signal-caller for Reid.

When Reid arrived, the Chiefs were coming off one of their worst seasons in franchise history. He immediately transformed Kansas City into perennial contenders. In sum, the Chiefs have made the playoffs in eight of their nine seasons under Reid. Further, Reid led the Chiefs to their first Super Bowl title in 50 years.

Kansas City Chiefs Key Players

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes is one of the marquee men of the NFL. And with plenty of good reason. Mahomes is a 4-time Pro Bowler as the Chiefs starter. He was the 2018 NFL Most Valuable Player, among numerous other awards. Most important of all, Mahomes has the complete trust of his teammates and coaches.

Travis Kelce is the best tight end in football and had 92 catches, 1125 yards, and nine touchdowns. Against Buffalo in the Divisional Playoff, he caught the two most important passes of the game. Including the game-winning TD.

Tyreek Hill led the Chiefs with 111 catches, 1239 yards, and nine TDs. Against Buffalo, Hill had one of the game’s biggest plays with a 45-yard punt return.

Kicker Harrison Butker is a weapon in his own right. To summarize, he is 146-162 for his career. Most important of all, Butker tied Buffalo game at the regulation gun with a 49-yard field goal to force overtime.

Linebacker Bick Bolton had 11 tackles for loss in 2021. At the same time, defensive tackle Chris Jones was a Pro football Bets asset with nine sacks and eight tackles for loss. Of great concern is the status of safety Tyrann Mathieu, who remains in concussion protocol. The three-time Pro Bowler led the Chiefs with three interceptions.
