Chiefs vs. Packers, Cowboys vs. Seahawks Top NFL Week 13 Card

Jerry Jones is a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. But Jones rocks the coveted Gold Jacket for his business acumen. Despite such an NFL betting odds honor, the circumstances eat at Jones. That is because the owner prefers to be known as a football man instead of a businessman. Since Jones bought the Dallas Cowboys in 1989, he has strived to win a Super Bowl as the football operations boss. In the first five seasons of his ownership, Jones let Jimmy Johnson run the football operation while Jones took care of the business side.

With Jerry Jones’s full support, Johnson led the Cowboys to Super Bowl championships in 1992 and 1993. But a clash of egos followed as Jones couldn’t take Johnson getting all the credit and glory. The owner wrote Johnson a farewell check and sent him packing.

Once Johnson departed, Jones could live his sportsbook fantasy football dream of being the Cowboys football boss. Indeed, Dallas won one more Super Bowl with caretaker Barry Switzer as the head coach in 1995. It was their last championship. Subsequently, as Johnson’s players departed, the replacements weren’t as good. And the discipline of Johnson’s teams departed the building with him.

Jones has had his share of teams in the NFL Playoffs. But none of his teams were good enough to win the Super Bowl. During his tenure, Dallas is perpetually hyped as the team to beat. At the same time, the casual sector bets them up into favored status. But it’s all hat and no cattle. Dallas last made the NFC Championship in that 1995 Super Bowl campaign.

At the onset of Week 13, Dallas will open with a Thursday Night Amazon Prime game against the Seattle Seahawks. Seattle was one of the great surprise teams of the 2022 season. The Seahawks traded Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos and were written off for dead. Instead, the Seahawks made the 2022 NFL Playoffs while Denver held an empty bag with Wilson.

In turn, NBC Sunday Night Football has one of the best marquee matchups any sport could offer. The Kansas City Chiefs and Green Bay Packers are two of the NFL’s Legacy Franchises. And Lambeau Field is a sacred NFL Cathedral. The Packers will host the Chiefs. However, gamblers wonder if Green Bay will be in playoff contention when this game starts. New starting quarterback, Jordan Love replaces future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers.
