Colt’s Caldwell says he has a Plan

Indianapolis head coach Jim Caldwell has told quarterback Peyton Manning that he has a plan in place for the 2009 season. Manning has been worried that things will change now that long time coach Tony Dungy is gone and offensive coordinator Tom Moore has a reduced role.  The Colts have won 12 or more games for 7 straight years which is an NFL record.  Football betting odds makers don’t believe the Colts will make that number this season as their win total has been set at 10 at the online sportsbook.

Earlier in the off-season, Manning was talking about being worried about everything but obviously he has been talked to by ownership and others and told to keep his concerns to himself.  Manning is now giving the party line answer when asked about things. “Even though Tony Dungy won’t be on the sideline, I feel like the winning atmosphere and the environment he created in our building will carry through,” Manning said, “Coach Caldwell assured me he’s got a good plan. Hopefully August 2 we’ll be able to hit the ground running.”

Last season the Colts lost four of their first seven games as online sports betting results tell us but that was mainly due to Manning not having the proper preparation after coming off of knee surgery. “Not being able to go through training camp definitely caused me to have a slow start to the season,” Manning said. “I’m a big believer that training camp is where you form the foundation of your team. Hopefully we can go through with no hurdles this year and get off to a fast start.”

The Colts lost in the playoffs for the second straight year in the first round last year as football betting results tell us.  They may have trouble even reaching the playoffs if football odds makers are correct.  Ten wins might not even be enough to make the playoffs in the AFC.  Last year the Patriots won 11 games and didn’t get in.

Indianapolis is 12-1 in football betting odds at the online sportsbook to win Super Bowl XLIV.  Those football odds might seem low considering their win total was set at 10.  Indianapolis opens up the regular season on September 13th as they host the Jacksonville Jaguars.  The Colts are 6.5 point favorites in football betting odds for that opening game.
