It is true that Carolina is one of the worst teams in the NFL. But Carolina’s owner is one of the richest men on Earth. David Tepper has tried various coaches and quarterbacks with no online betting success. Now for the 2023 campaign, he has a new coach Frank Reich to go with Bryce Young.
Frank Reich could prove to be the perfect hire for the Panthers. In this situation, Bryce Young needs a mentor who knows what playing QB in the NFL is like. Reich is that man. Reich was one of the best backup QBs in NFL history. He had a 13-year career in the league and learned much along the way.
Following his playing career, Reich became one of the NFL’s best quarterback coaches and offensive coordinators. He graduated to become head coach of the Indianapolis Colts in 2018. The Colts made the playoffs twice in Reich’s four full seasons. Reich finished 40-33-1 despite the unexpected retirement of QB Andrew Luck after his first pro football betting odds season as head coach.
Justin Fields was battered in his rookie season of on-the-job training. And there are legitimate concerns that the experience could damage his career. In like manner, head coach Matt Eberflus was under assault as a rookie in that role. Fields and Eberflus inherited a poor supporting cast and were doomed to struggle, regardless of ability. What is most worrisome is that the Bears’ prospects for 2023 are not much better.
