When you look at the football odds for Week 8 you will notice that the St. Louis Rams are favored against the Carolina Panthers. It is already obvious this season that the Rams are vastly improved and the public has come around to St. Louis. The Rams are the most popular team among gamblers in Week 8 NFL betting lines.
St. Louis Rams
The Rams are laying 3 points at home to the Carolina Panthers. Bettors believe the Rams will win and cover that number. St. Louis has been very good at home this season but it should be noted that Carolina did get their first win of the season last week and Matt Moore looked very good in his return as the starting quarterback for Carolina.
New England Patriots
Another very popular team this week with the public is the New England Patriots. The public has had enough of the Minnesota Vikings and the Brett Favre mess. They are siding with the Patriots minus the points in this game regardless of whether Favre plays or not.
Other Sides
The public is also siding with Oakland at home against Seattle. I guess they were impressed by the Raiders demolition of Denver last week. The Raiders are 2.5 point favorites at the Sbg sportsbook. It is hard to get too excited about the Raiders though unless quarterback Bruce Gradkowski returns from injury. The public also likes Tennessee plus the points at San Diego and Washington plus the points at Detroit. Those are the two road teams that the public is backing in Week 8. The public has been burned enough by San Diego this season so they are going with the Titans plus the points on the road. The public is also not sold on Detroit as a home favorite against the Redskins.
Favorite Totals
The public almost always bets games to go over the total unless the weather is bad. This week they like Tennessee and San Diego over, Minnesota and New England over, Buffalo and Kansas City over, Seattle and Oakland over, Green Bay and the Jets over, Washington and Detroit over and the game between Pittsburgh and New Orleans over the total in football odds.
