The San Diego Chargers disappointed gamblers last week as they lost at Kansas City in football betting. Most bettors are giving the Chargers a pass on that game since it was Kansas City’s home opener and it was in the rain. The Chargers are getting some definite action in NFL football betting this week as they are favored at home against Jacksonville.
The Sbg global sportsbook lists the Chargers as 7.5 point favorites with the total at 45.5. San Diego didn’t do a lot right last week and still they had a chance to tie the game in the last minute before losing. The rain definitely hurt the San Diego offense and the special teams of the Chargers were a disgrace. San Diego should be much better at home.
Jaguars are Not Road Warriors – The Jaguars are one of those teams that you really want to avoid in NFL football betting when they are on the road. In the last two seasons they are 5-11 away from home. The Jaguars did not do well last year in their two trips out to the West Coast as they were routed 41-0 at Seattle and 20-3 at San Francisco.
Keys for Jacksonville – The Jaguars have Maurice Jones-Drew and he could have some success against a San Diego defense that allowed Jamaal Charles to break a big run to a touchdown last week. Another key player this week for Jacksonville is Aaron Kampman. He is the new defensive end for the Jaguars and he was very good last week as he harassed Denver’s Kyle Orton. If he can put pressure on Philip Rivers then this game might actually be close.
Key Players for San Diego – The Chargers need a receiver to have a big game. You know that Vincent Jackson is holding out and despite what San Diego management has said, they miss Jackson. Malcolm Floyd would seem to be the logical player to step up and have a huge game but it might end up being Legedu Naanee who had 110 yards last week.
Football Betting Trends point to the Chargers – The Jaguars are 7-23 ATS in their last 30 games on grass. The Jaguars are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 road games.
