2010 NFL Preseason betting kicks off on Sunday as the Dallas Cowboys face the Cincinnati Bengals in the Hall of Fame Game. The Bengals are 2.5 point favorites in that game and that type of number is very common in NFL preseason lines. 2010 NFL preseason betting for Week 1 has small point spread on every single game. There are two games that do not have lines yet as the Cowboys and Bengals will also play in Week 1 in addition to the Hall of Fame Game. The Cowboys should be favored against the Raiders in Week 1 and that line might be higher than a field goal. Every other game has a point spread of a field goal or less. You will almost never see something like that in the regular season.
NFL preseason lines are unpredictable because you never know how long the starters will play. The odds makers don’t like to go out on a limb with preseason lines so they basically just make every game a field goal or less. That is exactly what they have done with Week 1. The Bengals are 2.5 point favorites over Dallas in the Hall of Fame Game. Thursday’s action has New England a 1.5 point favorite over New Orleans while Baltimore is a 3-point favorite at home against Carolina. There is no line yet on the game between Oakland and Dallas. Friday’s action has the home teams favored by small margins as well. The Philadelphia Eagles are 2.5 point home favorites against Jacksonville, Washington is a 3-point favorite against Buffalo and Atlanta is a 3-point favorite against Kansas City.
Next Saturday is a busy day of preseason action. It will be Miami a 3-point favorite at home against Tampa Bay, Pittsburgh a 2.5 point home favorite against Detroit, Houston and Arizona a pick, Minnesota and St. Louis a pick, Green Bay a 2.5 point home favorite against Cleveland, San Diego a 3-point favorite at home against Chicago and Seattle a 3-point favorite at home against Tennessee. Next Sunday’s games have Indianapolis a 3-point home favorite vs. San Francisco while there is no line yet on Denver and Cincinnati.
