Jacksonville Jaguars at Miami Dolphins NFL Betting

NFL betting on Monday includes the Jacksonville Jaguars and Miami Dolphins meeting for the seventh straight year in the preseason. Miami is coming off a surprising 11-5 regular season while the Jaguars are coming off a disappointing 5-11 season.NFL betting has the Miami Dolphins a three point favorite in this game with a total of 33. Miami returns all of their key players from last season including quarterback Chad Pennington who threw for 3,653 yards with 19 touchdowns and seven interceptions.

Miami did make some upgrades on defense including bringing back Jason Taylor. Miami also picked up safety Gibril Wilson from Oakland and they drafted Vontae Davis and Sean Smith who they hope will upgrade the secondary. One of their offensive NFL betting draft picks was West Virginia quarterback Pat White and he could hardly bear watching the Wildcat offense this season. The Dolphins are expected to play starting quarterback Pennington for a few series tonight in this NFL betting matchup followed by Chad Henne and then White.

Jacksonville had a rough 2008 season in NFL football betting but they looked poised to be much better this season as they made some nice additions that should help them in 2009. Quarterback David Garrard returns as does running back Maurice Jones-Drew but long-time veteran Fred Taylor is now with New England. The Jaguars definitely upgraded their receiving corps as they added Torry Holt in the off-season. The Jags also made some nice additions to their offensive line getting Tra Thomas from the Eagles and drafting Eugene Monroe and Eben Britton. The Jaguars are expected to let Garrard go at least a quarter in tonight’s NFL betting game along with the rest of the starters although Jones-Drew might only go a couple of series. NFL betting tells us that Garrard will be followed at quarterback by Todd Bouman and Paul Smith. Bouman is an experienced backup and his play could be important to the NFL betting outcome of this Monday night game.

Jacksonville leads the all-time preseason series 4-3 although the Dolphins have won the last two games including 19-14 in NFL betting last season. Jacksonville head coach Jack Del Rio has said that he was not happy about last year’s result as he felt the Jaguars were manhandled in that preseason contest. He is expecting a much better showing out of his team on Monday night in Miami.
