Joe Cool and Bengals on Cusp of Super Season

Joe Cool and Bengals on Cusp of Super Season

At the onset, Cincinnati made a massive splash in free agency by signing Orlando Brown Jr. as its new left tackle. Last season with Kansas City, Brown was 18th in pass block win rate as a tackle. When Jonah Williams was healthy in 2021, he was 50th among 68 qualifying players. If Williams slides over to right tackle as the Bengals hope, he could be an upgrade over La’el Collins. In comparison, Collins has had availability and durability issues in his NFL odds career. And improved pass-blocking means more time for QB Joe Burrow in the pocket.

Certainly, Cincinnati remains one of the top marquee teams in the league. After five prime-time games in 2022, the Bengals have four contests in 2023. Two of them are on Monday Night Football. While they have one game on Sunday night and another on Thursday night. The Bengals’ toughest stretch comes at the end of their season as they take on two 2022 playoff teams and two division rivals.

The stretch starts with Cincinnati hosting the Vikings. Then the Bengals go on the road in back-to-back weeks to take on the Steelers, whom they split with a year ago. And then they meet the defending Super Bowl champion Chiefs. Cincinnati ends the regular season with a home game against the Browns. Correlate that Cleveland has QB Deshaun Watson playing in his first full season since his suspension. The Bengals head back to Arrowhead, not “Burrowhead.” Following their defeat by the Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game.

Cincinnati is 3-1 against Kansas City since 2021. But only the Chiefs have gotten the last laugh with a Super Bowl title. This game could be a battle for the No. 1 sportsbook seed in the AFC.

2023 Cincinnati Bengals Offseason Moves

There was loads of speculation entering the draft that Cincinnati would move to replace Joe Mixon. Cause by the veteran running back coming off a down season. In addition, he is currently facing criminal charges for an off-field incident. Bijan Robinson and Jahmyr Gibbs were the top running backs in this NFL betting odds draft class. Each came off the board long before Cincinnati came on the clock on opening night. Thus, removing any Mixon-related drama in Round 1.
