NFL betting should be popular again this week on the Minnesota Vikings as they are at Detroit. Last week the Vikings were a popular choice and they easily covered the football betting pointspread in their win against Cleveland.NFL betting has the Vikings about a 10-point favorite at Detroit. The Minnesota Vikings routed the Browns last week in Cleveland as Adrian Peterson ran all over the Browns for 180 yards and 3 TDs. Quarterback Brett Favre didn’t have to do much except get out of the way. Minnesota’s defense was also good as they forced 3 fumblers and had an interception, plus they had five sacks of Brady Quinn.
Detroit showed signs of improvement last week but they still suffered an NFL betting loss to New Orleans. Rookie quarterback Matthew Stafford struggled at times, throwing three interceptions. “(A lot of his anxiousness in the pocket) probably a lot had to do with being down 14-0 and (the fact that it) took away our ability to run the football,” said head coach Jim Schwartz. “A lot of our play-actions, linebackers were deeper, which causes the quarterback either to get the ball intercepted or to sail the ball. That was a big part of it.” The defense did not play well last week in the loss to the Saints and that is a major concern as Minnesota comes to town. “The main issue is red zone defense, third-down efficiency – I think they were close to 70% in both of those. You can do a lot better than we did.” Schwartz said. They will have to find a way to slow down Peterson if they want to be competitive on Sunday.
