At the onset, one of the more interesting moves on the 2023 quarterback carousel is Derek Carr to the New Orleans Saints. The Saints are trying to rebuild the plane while it’s in the air. But given how weak the NFC South looks this year, it could work. While Andy Dalton performed admirably in 2022, it was not enough. Now, bringing in Derek Carr and retaining Michael Thomas has made gamblers take notice. New Orleans has gotten play in the NFL odds future market. Additionally, adding running back Kendre Miller in the draft should help in 2023.

At the beginning, the Saints will get a true home opener for the first time since the 2019 season. That means fans won’t have to wait long to see new quarterback Derek Carr. Additionally, they will see the potential return of star wide receiver Michael Thomas. Following his rehab for a toe injury, Thomas has played in only four regular season games at home.
The Saints will play in three prime-time games this sportsbook season. Specifically against the Carolina Panthers, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Los Angeles Rams. Consider that total is the same number they got in the 2022 season (they went 0-3 in those games last season). Also, with no international game, they’ll get an NFL betting odds earlier bye in Week 11.
Sean Payton took over the team in 2006 and led the Saints to their most successful period in team history. From 2006 through 2020, the Saints made the NFL Playoffs nine times. Most important of all, New Orleans won the 2009-10 season Super Bowl. That was the only title in franchise history.
Payton partnered with quarterback Drew Brees for one of the NFL’s most prolific offenses. Both coach and quarterback are likely Hall of Fame-bound. Gayle Benson, the widow of deceased legendary owner Tom Benson, remains the team’s owner.
