The New York Giants experiment with head coach Joe Judge ended after two years. Correlate that Judge was in way over his head and quite insecure. Following a 4-13 NFL odds debacle in 2021, Judge was fired. The highly respected former Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Brian Daboll is in his place. With the hiring of Daboll comes a significant increase in fan enthusiasm and gambling expectations. First on the to-do list for Daboll is to determine once and for all if Daniel Jones can effectively play quarterback at an NFL level.

A History of Big Blue Football
At the onset in 1925, the New York Giants were a foundational NFL franchise. The Giants were one of five teams that joined the NFL in 1925. And then the Mara Family has been involved in the team’s ownership since the late 1920s. The late Wellington Mara was the best-known member of the family ownership. He served as general manager and later president of the team as an owner from 1937 to 2005.
From 1927 through 1963, the Giants were a consistent contender that won four NFL championships. 1956 through 1963 was a Golden Era of Glory with six championship game appearances. Yet Big Blue won only one title. The Giants lost three consecutive championship games from 1961 through 1963. Following that was a long period of darkness.
Head coach Bill Parcells was not well-known when he took over Big Blue in 1983. But by the time Parcells left in 1991, the Giants had won two Super Bowl championships and regained national respect as a power offshore bookmaker franchise. In turn, Parcells was enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Two of the greatest wins in franchise history came under the leadership of head coach Tom Coughlin. In 2007 the Giants were a wild card playoff team but made the Super Bowl. Subsequently, they ruined the New England Patriots’ bid for an undefeated season. In 2011 the Giants were again wild card Super Bowl champions over the Patriots. Coughlin had Eli Manning as his quarterback in those days. Accordingly, Manning is a future Hall of Famer that rewrote the Giants’ passing record book.
There have been numerous marquee men that have played for Big Blue. Namely, Frank Gifford, Charlie Conerly, YA Tittle, Phil Simms, Lawrence Taylor, and Eli Manning are among the legends.
2022 New York Giants Overview
Daniel Jones has been a lightning rod since New York made him the 6th overall pick of the 2019 NFL Draft. Of great concern is that Jones has not progressed sufficiently in his time with New York. But there is debate about whether that is his fault or a failure by the Giants. Giants co-owner John-Mara has admitted that the team has not given Jones enough surrounding pieces and support. In sum, if anyone can turn around the career path; of Jones, it is Daboll.
Cause of their recent run of NFL betting odds futility, the Giants are not a desirable TV product. New York’s only scheduled prime-time appearance is a week three Monday Night home game against the Dallas Cowboys. Also, New York gets a week five-morning game from Europe against the Green Bay Packers.
