At the beginning of 2021, the NFC East futures odds have a familiar favorite. Dallas is the even-money choice with the NFL odds to take the division title in 2021. But how much of that is based on the Jerry Jones Hype Machine? Compared to actual merit. One look at the division reveals Dallas could be the best of four bad choices. Last year the Washington Football team won the NFC “Least” by default with a 7-9 record. No division was as putridly embarrassing as this one. But somebody has to win it.

2021 NFC East Futures SBG Odds Overview
On this occasion, we must remember the object of the sportsbook game. We are not handicapping a Super Bowl champion. Hence, all that must be figured out is the winner of a bad division. Philadelphia is viewed as a potentially strong value. Most observers see a team with a decent overall structure. Further, a strong draft adds to the Eagles’ cause.
Dallas is Dallas. In a similar way to the Lakers and Yankees do the Cowboys carry an enhanced price tag. Washington took advantage of a weak 2020 division. But are they really that good? Meanwhile, the Giants exceeded 2020 expectations. Yet the Giants aren’t a good team, and Daniel Jones lacks a strong supporting cast.
Are the Eagles Ready to Fly?
By all accounts, the Eagles had a strong 2021 NFL Draft. First in the NFC East was their post-draft ranking. Alabama Heisman Trophy-winning receiver DeVonta Smith was their first-round pick. No doubt quarterback Jalen Hurts loves this pick. Of course, Hurts played at Alabama and knows of Smith.
Cowboys: We’ve Heard it All Before
Fashion that no team is perpetually hyped like the Cowboys. Namely, Jerry Jones is the best publicity machine and businessman owner in the NFL. Offsetting that is his terrible record on the field. Most Important of all, Dallas is consistently overpriced. And they rarely live up to the hype. Last year was a classic example. If the Cowboys were even mediocre, they would have won the division going away. The defense was their priority in the draft. Consider the Cowboys took six defensive players in the first six rounds. Quarterback Dak Prescott’s return does spark optimism for improvement.
A Giant Leap Forward?
To begin with, New York invested heavily in wide receiver Kenny Golladay and cornerback Adoree Jackson. Daniel Jones hasn’t progressed much as a quarterback. However, a young offensive line and a weak supporting cast are culprits. First-round pick Kadarius Toney, a Florida wide receiver, should help.
Nameless Fake Champions or Poised for More?
Ryan Fitzpatrick will be the fifth starting quarterback in a 14-game stretch for Washington. Certainly, Washington’s nasty defense is a proven asset that led the way to a division title. Of major concern is that Washington hasn’t addressed offensive improvement in a significant way.
