NFC Futures Remain Similar Post 2021 NFL Draft

Following the 2021 NFL Draft, the same NFC favorites remain on the board. Green Bay, Tampa Bay, and the Rams are early chalk with the NFL odds. San Francisco is right behind, with New Orleans and Seattle in tow. And then, of course, the Cowboys hype machine has them as the seventh pick. However, nothing indicates that Dallas deserves such respect. But the biggest news was off the field. Aaron Rodgers wants out of Green Bay. Should he get his wish for a trade, the Packers won’t be close to chalk anymore. Green Bay vows they aren’t moving Rodgers.

Green Bay Packers

All is not well in Mr. Rodgers Neighborhood. Aaron Rodgers wants out. But Green Bay says they aren’t making a trade. So, that begs the question as to if Rodgers will retire. Many believe Rodgers is petty and full of himself. Thus, retiring out of spite would surprise nobody. But Green Bay could make everything right with a massive new contract. Packers President Mike Murphy and the club were dragging their feet. Rogers feels totally disrespected. Of course, the 2020 pick of quarterback Jordan Love remains an insult to Rodgers too.

Rodgers has only one Super Bowl win and appearance for his career. Yet, not all of that is his fault. Green Bay never built a complete team around the record-setting pass machine. As a result, the Packers suffered painful sportsbook flops in the postseason. Green Bay can’t afford to lose Rodgers. Their organization is too smart not to know that. Accordingly, a new deal will likely be finalized.

Chicago Bears

Chicago is a longshot but feeling optimistic after the Draft. Cause by the selection of Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields. Questions about the Bears’ organizational ability to screw things up are legitimate. But Fields is the type of playmaking quarterback NFL teams covet. Kansas City’s Patrick Mahomes changed that dynamic once and for all with his success. Every coach dreams of that type of QB. But skepticism over the Bears is always healthy.

San Francisco 49ers

In a similar way to the Packers, San Francisco faces the prospect of an annoyed quarterback. Jimmy Garoppolo led the 49ers to the cusp of Super Bowl glory. Consider San Francisco led the Chiefs 20-10 with 8:12 to go in the game. But Mahomes engineered a comeback for the ages. And the entire blueprint of an NFL quarterback changed that very moment. Garoppolo is injury-prone with a dinosaur style. That is why the 49ers drafted Trey Lance out of North Dakota State. Could Jimmy G be on the trading block?

How ‘Bout Them, Cowboys?

Specifically, no team is more consistently overrated for NFL betting than the Cowboys. Why will 2021 be any different? Dallas chose six defensive players with their first six picks in the 2021 NFL Draft. Correlate first-round pick linebacker Micah Parsons out of Penn State. Dallas’ defense was a debacle in 2020. While they drafted to needs, it doesn’t equate to a conference title.
