NFL Betting – Browns Heavily Favored vs. Panthers

The Cleveland Browns have to go back to quarterback Jake Delhomme this week with Colt McCoy injured but they are still heavily favored in NFL betting against the Carolina Panthers. Not many gamblers making an NFL bet want anything to do with Carolina no matter how many points they are getting.

Browns -10, total 37.5 at Sbg global
The Browns are laying big points at home in this contest against the Panthers. There is no question that Carolina is the worst team in the NFL and even though they are getting back Jimmy Clausen at quarterback, the Panthers inspire no confidence.

Delhomme vs. his Former Team
This will be Jake Delhomme’s first game against his former team.  He led the Panthers for seven years but now he will be facing them as the Cleveland starting quarterback. Delhomme has not played well this season as he threw two interceptions in the opening game of the season and was terrible again in Week 5 when the threw two more.

Carolina Can’t Score
The Panthers have the worst offense in the NFL so it seems unlikely they will do much in this game unless Delhomme gives them some turnovers. The Panthers had to go with Brian St. Pierre at quarterback last week and he didn’t play well, but no Carolina quarterback has played well this season.  Clausen is likely to get the call on Sunday but he has been terrible this season. The Panthers will have to hope they can find some sort of running game with Mike Woodson carrying the ball. He has rushed for over 100 yards in two straight games. Jonathan Stewart has returned to practice this week and he could also see action.

Game Trends
The Panthers are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games in Week 12. The Panthers are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games as an underdog. The Browns are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games as a favorite for gamblers making an NFL bet. The Browns are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games in Week 12.  This should be a low scoring game with these two rotten offenses. The Under is 12-5 in NFL betting in the Panthers last 17 games overall. The Under is 4-1 in the Browns last 5 games as a home favorite.
