This could be the week for the Buffalo Bills in NFL betting. The Bills have played hard week after week but have not been able to get their first victory of the season.
This might be the week as they host the Detroit Lions. This will be a tough choice for gamblers making an NFL bet though since the Lions have been the best point spread team in the NFL this season.Detroit has won three of the last five games against Buffalo and they are 4-1 against the spread. The teams last met in 2006 when the Lions won 20-17 at home. The only other meeting this decade was in Buffalo in 2002 when the Bills won 24-17.
Tough Losses Last Week
The Lions found a way to lose last week as the Jets beat them in overtime by a score of 23-20. Even though the Lions lost, they did cover the spread yet again for gamblers making an NFL bet. Quarterback Matthew Stafford threw two touchdown passes and ran for another one as the Lions got out to a nice lead only to blow it at the end. Stafford re-injured his right shoulder late in this game and had to leave. His status for this game could be up in the air for Sunday. The Lions also made a bad coaching call late in the game when they decided to throw the ball instead of running time off the clock. That decision game back to haunt them as the Jets got the tying field goal to send the game into overtime.
Bills Bad Luck Continues
The Bills just can’t buy a break. They went up to Toronto and lost to the Chicago Bears by a score of 22-19. Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick was 31 of 51 for 299 yards and a touchdown but he could not lead the Bills to a late score to tie or win the game. The Bills are now off to their worst start in 26 years. It was the third straight game that the Bills lost by three points.
Buffalo could be Worth Betting
If Stafford does not play in this game then the Bills are worth taking. Drew Stanton is the third string quarterback for Detroit and the Bills would seem to have a big advantage if Stafford is out.
