Two teams fighting to stay in the AFC playoff picture meet in NFL betting in Oakland with the Raiders hosting the Miami Dolphins. Both teams come into the game at 5-5 and neither can afford a loss. Gamblers making an NFL bet at the Sbg global sportsbook are leaning with the Dolphins especially if Chad Henne returns at quarterback.
Quarterback Questions
It is very possible that the Dolphins will get Chad Henne back at quarterback which makes them a team to consider at Oakland. Last week the Dolphins were down to third stringer Tyler Thigpen and he did not play well in a loss to Chicago. It was thought that Henne might be lost for the season but he has been practicing this week and many of his teammates believe he will start on Sunday at Oakland. The Raiders have quarterback issues of their own as Jason Campbell did not play well last week at Pittsburgh but head coach Tom Cable said Campbell will start this week although if he plays poorly don’t be surprised to see Bruce Gradkowski in the game quickly.
Other Injuries
The Dolphins have all kinds of problems on their offensive line as they may be without center Joe Berger and backup Cory Procter on Sunday. Left tackle Jake Long has been playing through a shoulder injury. Wide receiver Brandon Marshall was hurt last week and probably won’t play. Oakland has been missing All-Pro cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha and he may miss this game as well.
Recent Series History
The Dolphins have won seven of the last eight against the Raiders including the last four games at Oakland. The Dolphins have been a much better team on the road this season than at home so they may be happy to be on the road this week. The last time these teams met was two years ago in Miami as the Dolphins won 17-15 on a last minute field goal by Dan Carpenter. This could be a low scoring game and worth an NFL bet on the under. The Under is 5-0 in the Dolphins last 5 road games and the Under is 12-5 in the Dolphins last 17 games in November. The Under is 5-2 in NFL betting in the last 7 meetings between the two teams.
