NFL Betting – Indianapolis at Washington on Sunday Night

Two 3-2 teams meet on Sunday night in NFL betting on NBC as the Indianapolis Colts visit the Washington Redskins. The Indianapolis Colts will look to get their offense untracked against a weak Washington defense.  The Redskins are giving up 410.2 yards per game but they have eight takeaways and have made enough plays to win games.  The Colts are 3-point road favorites at SBG and could be the way to go with an NFL bet in this contest.

Close Games – The Redskins have three wins this season and each of their wins was close.  Last week they won in overtime against Green Bay as LaRon Landry got a big interception to set up the winning field goal. The Redskins will be facing an Indianapolis team that handed Kansas City their first loss of the season last week.

Peyton Manning – When you talk about the Colts you start with Manning. He is tied for the NFL lead in touchdown passes with 11 and he is third in passing yards with 1,609 yards.  Reggie Wayne is second in the league in yardage. The Colts can’t run the ball but it has not mattered.

Washington Running Game – The Redskins are hoping that Ryan Torain can have a big game with Clinton Portis out due to injury. The Colts are 29th in the league against the run.  The Redskins should be able to run the ball effectively and take the pressure off of Donovan McNabb.

Colts 0-5 at Washington – The Colts have not won at Washington since 1967. The teams met four years ago at Indianapolis and the Colts won by a score of 36-22. Let’s look at some more betting stats to consider.  The Colts are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games in October. The Colts are 7-2 in NFL betting in their last 9 games as a road favorite. The Redskins are 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 games as an underdog. The Redskins are 5-12 ATS in their last 17 home games.  If you are going to make an NFL bet on the total then the over is probably the way to go. The Over is 5-1 in the Colts last 6 road games. The Under is 13-5 in the Redskins last 18 home games.
