NFL Betting New York Jets at Baltimore Ravens

NFL betting on Monday includes the first start for Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez as New York visits the Baltimore Ravens in a preseason game that can be seen on ESPN. The Ravens are a three-point football betting favorite at the online sportsbook with a total of 32.5. NFL betting at the sports book should be interesting on this matchup simply because Sanchez is getting the start for New York.  NFL betting tells us that the Jets are looking at Sanchez as their franchise quarterback and he might win the starting job as a rookie against Kellen Clemens.

The football betting game also marks the return of New York head coach Rex Ryan to Baltimore.  This NFL betting game is sort of a family reunion game since Ryan brought some of his former players and some coaches with him to New York. “I don’t know how to answer questions about ‘How much we miss Rex.” Baltimore head coach John Harbaugh said, “We loved having him as our defensive coordinator, but he’s gone now, and we love ‘Matti’ [Greg Mattison]. Our focus is our defense today, not what Rex is doing with the Jets, or what he did with the Ravens, and he was outstanding with the Ravens.”

The focus though will be on Sanchez in this NFL betting matchup. “It’s very exciting. I think this entire year is going to be a lot of firsts: first road trip and first start.” Sanchez said, “This is a big-time Monday night game. It’s as close to a real game as possible. I’m so excited to try and build on last week. I think that’s the main focus. That doesn’t necessarily mean I have to throw the ball deep every first play I get in.”  The Jets will look to be balanced in this NFL betting matchup on Monday with Sanchez throwing and Thomas Jones running.

Last week the Ravens were very impressive as they shut out Washington 23-0 in NFL betting.  The Ravens defense held the Redskins to 196 yards and Baltimore’s offense had 500 yards on offense as NFL betting stats indicate.  The Jets lost 23-20 last week in NFL betting against the St. Louis Rams.  Baltimore lost some defensive players to the Jets in the off-season as football betting numbers indicate, so last week’s shutout was important.

The Jets lead the all-time preseason NFL betting series against the Ravens 3-2.  The teams have not met in the football betting preseason sine 2002 when the Jets won 34-16 in NFL betting at Baltimore.
