NFL Betting – New Meadowlands Stadium Opener as Giants Host Panthers

The New York Giants get the honor of hosting the first regular season game at the New Meadowlands Stadium and they are favored in NFL betting to win over the Carolina Panthers.

The Panthers and Giants struggled in the preseason but the Giants do have the superior offense and they are a TD favorite at Sbg global with the total at 41.  What do we need to know about this game when we make an NFL bet? Do you trust the Giants?  The question to answer in this game is whether or not you trust the Giants. They were just 8-8 last season.  Was that an aberration or are they just not that good?

Manning and Bradshaw – The Giants should put some points on the board with Eli Manning throwing the ball and Ahmad Bradshaw running it. The Giants have finally figured out that Bradshaw is a better running back than Brandon Jacobs so that will help them.  Carolina’s defense is good but not great so New York should score.

Can the Giants Stop Anyone?  The Giants defense last season was simply awful. They were third worst in the entire league in points allowed. When you are down with St. Louis and Detroit in defensive numbers you have serious problems.  Why is it going to be different this season?  They have a weak line backing crew, a suspect secondary and no big playmakers.  They get a break in this game since Carolina’s offense is not explosive but do you trust this defense to make a key stop as you look to win your NFL bet?

Panthers Offense – The Panthers offense didn’t score a single TD in the preseason.  That is simply amazing if you think about it.  In the preseason you should score just by accident.  The Panthers were without Steve Smith in the preseason and maybe he makes so much of a difference that the Panthers will be better with him playing.  Jonathan Stewart also didn’t play so the Panthers were missing two of their best offensive players.  With Stewart and DeAngelo Williams running the ball and Steve Smith back in the lineup the Panthers should score in this game.

Trends favor Carolina – The NFL betting trends favor the Panthers. They are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games overall going back to last year.  They are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 road games. The road team in this series is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings and the Giants are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 home games.
