NFL Betting Odds – Jets at Steelers in AFC Championship.  The New York Jets will try and run the gauntlet in NFL betting odds as after beating Indianapolis and New England they now face the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC Championship game on Sunday.  The Jets are 3.5 point underdogs in NFL odds at the Sbg global sportsbook with the total on the game listed at 38.5.

Mission Impossible?
New York head coach Rex Ryan said that beating Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, and Ben Roethlisberger in three straight weeks on the road was like a Mission Impossible.  New York is two thirds of the way there though after wins over the Colts and Patriots.  Stopping Roethlisberger won’t be anything like stopping Manning and Brady because pressuring Big Ben is tough to do. He simply finds ways to escape and make big plays.  Manning and Brady get all the headlines but Roethlisberger has won two Super Bowls already in his career and simply doesn’t get rattled.

Some of the New York players have said that preparing for Roethlisberger is a huge challenge because they have no idea what he is going to do.  The Jets may have had some negative things to say about Manning and Brady but they are nothing but complimentary towards Big Ben.  Perhaps that is because he is tough and fits into exactly the type of player that the Jets love which is fearless. And Big Ben wins games in the clutch.  He did it again last week as he led Pittsburgh back from a 21-7 deficit. Two years ago in the Super Bowl he led the Steelers on the game winning TD drive.  He simply finds ways to win games.

No Bravado This Week
You probably haven’t heard the Jets running their mouths this week.  They simply have too much respect for Pittsburgh to say anything negative.  Perhaps the Jets can find a way to win again but if you read between the lines they know this game is going to be the toughest of the three to win.  The Jets won at Pittsburgh last month and while that sounds great it just means that the Steelers will not be overlooking the Jets this time. New York is given a chance by the NFL betting odds makers though as they are just 3.5 point underdogs at Pittsburgh on Sunday evening.
