NFL Betting Odds – Philip Rivers in the MVP Race

September 28th, 2022 NFL Football Betting Online Odds

The San Diego Chargers were very impressive on Monday night as they routed the Denver Broncos in NFL betting odds. Quarterback Philip Rivers threw four touchdown passes as the Chargers won yet another game vs. the NFL odds in November.

MVP Candidate
Rivers is now in the running for the MVP in the NFL.  He has thrown for 3,177 yards in 10 games.  And he has done much of it without his top receivers.  He will be getting one of them back this week as Vincent Jackson returns.  Rivers could be in line to break Dan Marino’s single season passing record and the Chargers are just a game out of first place in the AFC West.  This is a big week for the Chargers as they have a tough game at Indianapolis. If the Chargers win that game they will be on their way as the rest of their schedule looks pretty easy.

San Diego is Money in November and December
The Chargers almost never lose in November and December.  Rivers has never lost a game in December since he became the starter in 2006.  This week’s game will be in November and it is a tough one at Indianapolis but the December games look easy. The Chargers host Oakland and Kansas City in the first two weeks of December. The Chargers are used to winning games late in the season.  They won their last six games in 2007 and in 2008 they won their final four games.  Last year they won their last 11 games.  Betting on San Diego against the NFL betting odds at Sbgglobal late in the season is simply the way to go.

Rivers Could Break Marino’s Record
Even though he threw for just 233 yards in the win over Denver, Rivers is still right on pace to break Dan Marino’s single season passing record set in 1984. Marino threw for 5,084 yards and Rivers is right there as he is on pace for 5,083 yards.  Rivers may not get tight end Antonio Gates back but he will be getting Vincent Jackson back and that is huge because Jackson is considered one of the top receivers in the league.  If Rivers leads the Chargers to the playoffs and breaks Marino’s passing record he could definitely win the league MVP.
