The New York Jets are slight NFL betting online favorites on Sunday as they face the Cleveland Browns. Even though the Browns are only 3-5 this season they have proven to be a good team with rookie quarterback Colt McCoy at the helm and have wins over New Orleans and New England. This could be a tough game for the Jets but they are still 3-point road favorites in NFL betting at the Sbg global sportsbook.
Jets -3, total 37.5
The Jets pulled out an overtime win last week as they won at Detroit by a score of 23-20. New York was not able to cover the spread in that game though as they were laying more than a field goal. The Jets are tied for the best record in the league at 6-2 and they have a solid point spread record at 5-3. They face a Cleveland team that has looked very good in recent weeks with McCoy leading them.
Browns at Home
Two of Cleveland’s three wins this season have come at home. No longer are the Browns a laughingstock. They are playing very well for head coach Eric Mangini. The Browns are running the ball very effectively with Peyton Hillis and McCoy is a true leader and their defense has been stout.
Game Facts
Normally you would think of this as a trap game for the Jets but after what Cleveland did to New England last week that won’t be the case. Rex Ryan will have his team ready to play at Cleveland. The Jets will be facing their former head coach in Eric Mangini so this game should be interesting.
Browns Own the Series
The Jets and Browns have not met that many times since Cleveland got a team again. They have played three times and the Browns have won and covered three of the four in NFL betting. The last meeting game in 2007 as the Browns went into New York and won 24-18. The last time they played in Cleveland was in 2006 as the Browns won 20-13. Three of their four meetings have gone under the total in NFL betting online and with these two defenses that could be the outcome again on Sunday.
