NFL Betting Online – New England Favored at Cleveland Cardinals

September 22nd, 2022 NFL Football Betting Online Odds

The New England Patriots will try and avoid a letdown on Sunday as they visit the Cleveland Browns in NFL betting online. The Patriots have the best record in the NFL at 6-1 but the odds makers seem to be aware of the possibility of a letdown as New England is laying less than a TD in NFL betting.

Patriots -5.5, total 44 at Sbgglobal
The Patriots are favored in this game but the Browns are getting some respect.  Cleveland has played hard this season and has looked good at times. One thing that is not clear about Cleveland is who will start at quarterback this week.  It could be Seneca Wallace or the Browns may decide to stick with rookie Colt McCoy. It is unlikely the Browns will start Jake Delhomme since he doesn’t look healed from his ankle injury.  That might be the best news if you are going to bet Cleveland as Delhomme is terrible.  Wallace is probably the best quarterback right now but Cleveland’s future is with McCoy.

Patriots Find Ways to Win
The Patriots don’t have the best statistics but they are finding ways to win. Last week they gutted out a tough win over Minnesota and covered the spread.  Look at the numbers for New England and you will be amazed. They are 19th in the league in total yards and 28th in the league in yards allowed but yet they are 6-1.

Good Spot for Cleveland
This is a huge letdown game for the Patriots. There is simply no getting around it. They won last week in a big game against Brett Favre, Randy Moss and the Vikings. Next week they have a huge road game at Pittsburgh.  This week they are at a perceived weak Cleveland team.  This game screams letdown.  This could be a low scoring game based on Cleveland’s conservative game plan and it could end up being close in NFL betting.

Series History
The Patriots have won five of the last six games in this series and they are 4-2 against the NFL betting online point spread. The teams have not played since 2007 when the Patriots won 34-17 at home. The last time they played in Cleveland was in 2004 and the Patriots won easily by a score of 42-15.
