You might want to jump off the Green Bay Packers bandwagon in NFL betting.The Packers were the Super Bowl favorites at Sbgglobal but the Packers have fallen to 3-2 after a loss to Washington and now they have a number of injury concerns. Making an NFL bet on the Packers this week largely depends on the status of Aaron Rodgers who suffered a concussion in last week’s game against Washington.
If Rodgers doesn’t play then you simply can’t like Green Bay in this game on Sunday against Miami. You may not like the Packers even if he does play. The Packers do not look like a Super Bowl team and even if Rodgers is healthy, they still have problems on both sides of the ball.
Green Bay Injuries – The Packers were battered last week by Washington. Rodgers suffered a concussion and his status for Sunday probably won’t be determined until late in the week. The Packers also lost linebacker Clay Matthews, tight ends Jermichael Finley and Donald Lee, safety Derrick Martin and defensive lineman Ryan Pickett. Check the injury report before you bet the game this week.
Overrated Packers – The Packers were Super Bowl favorites last week. Keep that in mind. They still have odds of 9-1 which is just behind Baltimore at 8.5 to 1. Those NFL betting odds should rise to double-digits this week. Green Bay is simply not a great team. We already knew about the defensive issues for the Packers and now they have problems on offense. Remember that the Packers led 13-3 against Washington in the fourth quarter. In their last seven possessions they had four punts, a pair of missed field goals and an interception.
Dolphins Need to Win – Much of the attention in this game is going to be on Green Bay but the Dolphins need this win even more. They are now 2-2 on the season and badly need to get above .500. They can’t afford a loss here. Green Bay can still be in the race in the NFC North even if they lose this game. Miami may not have that luxury in their division with the Jets and Patriots. The Dolphins could be worth an NFL bet in this game, especially if they are getting points.
