This Sunday the 27th of September 2015 we come into the full schedule of NFL Week 3 Regular Season Games and we are previewing what we think should be a very interesting match-up between the 0-2 Colts of Indianapolis playing at the 1-1 Titans of Tennessee with the game being played at the Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee at 1:05 PM ET and seen on CBS TV.
The opening odds at the SBG sportsbook for those that Bet on NFL have the visiting Colts favored at -3 -125 with the Over/under at 45 and -175 on the Money Line, while the home team underdog Titans are at +3 +105 and +155 on the ML.
If you are a fan of the Colts of Indianapolis, remember your Colt were picked as preseason favorites as Super Bowl contenders with their star QB A. Luck who would lead them to that goal. However, that has not been the case as QB Luck has struggled and the Colts come into week 3 with 0 wins and 2 losses after they lost game 2 with score 20-7 to the Jets of New York on Monday Night Football.
The Colts have no one to blame for their struggles but themselves as they had some 5 turnovers and committed 11 penalties in that game, and to add injury their CB Davis and TE Allen were injured in that game. Plus they only mustered a total of 7 points for the entire game on Monday night.
For the Colts to make a comeback to their winning ways the need to improve their performances both offensively and defensively in this road game against their divisional rivals the Titans of Tennessee.
The Colts are looking to get back to their game of 2014 when they average some 306 yards per game passing which was tops in the league. But in the loss against the Jets QB Luck passed for 21 of 37 going for 252 yards with 1 TD, was intercepted 3 times and he lost a fumble, so there is plenty of room to excel.
In the game against the Jets the Colts had one player that stood out and that was WR D. Moncrief who scored the only TD for the Colts on one of his receptions, of which he had a total of 7 receptions for a total of 124 yards. Their other WR T. Hilton only had 4 receptions for 48 yards on his return from a knee injury.
The Colts may find the scoring somewhat difficult in this game as the Titans defensive secondary have allowed only 168.5 passing yards in their 1st 2 games, so we will watch to see the performance from QB Luck and his receivers in the game. In the ultimate 10 games the Colts are 7 and 3 straight up.
If you’re a Titans of Tennessee fan, you know your team had a great game in their 1st win over the Buccaneers of Tampa Bay, but QB Mariota and the team came back to earth in their 2nd game of the season as t he were beaten by the Browns 28-14. The Browns QB J. Manziel quieted his critics with his performance in the game as he passed for 2 TD’s completing 8 of his 15 passes for some 174 passing yards in that game, and the last TD score was a pass to WR T. Benjamin for 50 yards.
The Titans QB Mariota the 2014 Heisman winner, still had a decent game in the loss, as he completed 21 of his 37 pass attempts scoring 2 TD’s which kept the game close on the scoreboard. Needless he had 3 fumbles and was sacked some 7 time in the game. However, this week 3 game against their division rivals the Colts, the game becomes more challenging as the play the reigning AFC South Champions the Colts of Indianapolis. The key to the Titans game will be their running game which this season ranks 7th as they have average 4.8 yards on each carry, and that’s a good note since the Colts are struggling on run defense, and have allowed their opponents to rush for more than 100 yards in the 1st 2 games. The Titans in their ultimate 5 games against the spread are 1 and 4!
The prediction in this rivalry game will see the Colts and QB Luck come back to life, and will overcome the Titans of Tennessee to win the game with the Colts 30 and the Titans 10.
