NFL Odds – San Francisco at Arizona on Monday Night

The San Francisco 49ers is small road favorites against the NFL odds on Monday night at Arizona. Both teams come into the game at 3-7 but in the rotten NFC West neither team is out of it as they are two games behind the Seattle Seahawks.  This is a tough game to predict which is why the NFL lines maker made the number on this game so small.San Francisco -1, total 40 at the Sbg sportsbook

The 49ers are one-point road favorites in this Monday night contest.  The 49ers were awful last week as they were shutout at home by Tampa Bay. Arizona was not any better as they were routed at Kansas City. One of these two teams will remain in the hunt in the NFC West while the loser will be looking to next season.

Who to Pick
Will the 49ers play well this week and look like a contender?  Will Arizona start to show something as they are home for this Monday night contest?  It is a tough game to call.  The 49ers probably have more talent with Frank Gore running the ball and Troy Smith at quarterback.  The Cardinals have really done nothing with Derek Anderson at quarterback and they have no running game.  Even head coach Ken Whisenhunt said his team is not confident right now.

49ers Should Win
San Francisco at least has some things in their favor in this game. Frank Gore normally will have big games although last week he was totally shut down in the loss to Tampa Bay.  Gore has averaged 101.6 rushing yards with six TDs in the last five matchups against Arizona. Last year the 49ers won both games against Arizona. The only concern if you take San Francisco against the NFL lines is that they are 0-4 on the road this year and have lost 10 of their last 12 road contests. History is against both San Francisco and Arizona as no team in NFL history has ever started 3-7 and made the playoffs.

Monday Trends
The 49ers are 17-5 against the NFL odds in their last 22 Monday games. The 49ers are 3-12-1 ATS in their last 16 games as a road favorite. The Cardinals are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games as an underdog. The 49ers are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings against Arizona.
