Favorites Bounce Back a Little Bit in Week 8 NFL Odds

This season of NFL odds has been dominated by underdogs but in Week 8 the favorites bounce back a little bit. It was not a huge week but there were some favorites that covered the spread in NFL betting odds

Small Favorites Cover
The reason that favorites bounce back a little this week was because the small favorites came through. The New England Patriots were laying five points at home against Minnesota and the Patriots got a late TD to cover. Detroit was a 3-point favorite at home against the Washington Redskins and they came through late with the win and the cover.  It looked like Washington would cover this game for sure but they collapsed in the final minutes.  San Francisco was a 2-point favorite in London against the Denver Broncos and the 49ers really dominated the Broncos, winning 24-16.

The St. Louis Rams were a 3-point home favorite against the Carolina Panthers and the Rams pretty much dominated the game, winning 20-10. Oakland was a 2-point home favorite against the Seattle Seahawks and won easily. Miami was either a one-point favorite or a pick and they won on the road at Cincinnati by eight points.  The one small favorite that didn’t come through was the Arizona Cardinals who lost outright at home to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.  Sunday night it was New Orleans a slight favorite at home vs. Pittsburgh while on Monday the Colts were laying five at home against Houston.

Chargers Come Through
The San Diego Chargers were 6-point favorites at home against the Tennessee Titans and they got the win and the cover.  The Chargers have been a big disappointment this season but they finally gave bettors a win against the NFL betting odds.

Biggest Favorite Fails to Cover
The biggest favorite this week in NFL odds was the Kansas City Chiefs. They were laying 7.5 points at home against Buffalo at Sbg global.com. The Chiefs won in overtime but never had any kind of chance to cover this game.

Two Other Popular Favorites Fall
The Dallas Cowboys and New York Jets were each laying 6.5 points at home and neither team covered the NFL odds.  In fact, both teams lost outright. The Cowboys were routed at home by the Jacksonville Jaguars while the Jets were shut out at home by the Green Bay Packers.
