Jets vs. Steelers NFL Odds

Jets vs. Steelers NFL Odds and Betting Odds for Winning. The Pittsburgh Steelers are favored by about a field goal on Sunday in NFL odds in the AFC Championship game against the New York Jets.  The Steelers have the home field edge but the Jets are getting some respect in NFL lines after road wins at Indianapolis and New England.

New York
The Jets became the first team in NFL history to win at least two road playoffs games in consecutive seasons.  If they win at Pittsburgh this week they would become only the second team in NFL history to beat the #1, #2 and #3 seeds on the way to the Super Bowl.  It should be noted though that Green Bay could accomplish the same thing if they beat Chicago on Sunday.
Quarterback Mark Sanchez won his fourth career postseason road game last week and that is tied with Len Dawson, Roger Staubach, Jake Delhomme and Joe Flacco for the most in NFL history.  Sanchez threw three TD passes last week in the win over New England. Only one other team in NFL history has made it to the Super Bowl as a #6 seed but both the Jets and Packers could make it this year.

Pittsburgh
The Steelers will be making their 15th appearance in the AFC title game, most in NFL history. They had to rally last week after they trailed Baltimore 21-7 at the half. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger threw for 226 yards and two touchdowns against the Ravens. Big Ben is now 9-2 (.818) all-time in the playoffs. That is the third-best winning percentage in NFL history behind only Bart Starr and Trent Dilfer. The Steelers have been winning games against the NFL lines thanks to their third quarter excellent. Pittsburgh has outscored its last four postseason opponents, 27-0, in the third quarter.

Game Notes
The Jets beat the Steelers last month 22-17 at Heinz Field in a game that went down to the last possession of the game.  It was the first time in history that the Jets had won at Pittsburgh in eight tries. It is worth noting in NFL odds that Pittsburgh safety Troy Polamalu missed that game due to injury. When the Jets and Steelers have met recently, the games have been very close with each of the last three games decided by five points or less.
