NFL Odds – Super Bowl Favorites at the Halfway Mark

The NFL season is at the halfway point with eight teams listed at 10-1 or less in NFL odds to win the Super Bowl. There is not an overwhelming favorite in NFL lines as each of the eight teams is given a realistic chance of winning the Super Bowl. Let’s take a look at each of those teams and a few others that might be worth a long shot wager.

Ravens and Giants 7-1
The Baltimore Ravens and New York Giants are the slight favorites at 7-1 to win the Super Bowl at the Sbg sportsbook.  Both teams have strong defenses and they also have offenses that have looked very good in recent weeks.  Neither team has an easy road to the Super Bowl though as the Ravens have to deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC North while the Giants have an improving Philadelphia team to beat out in the NFC East.

Steelers 7.5 to 1
Just behind the top two teams are the Pittsburgh Steelers.  They are so close that you can almost make them co-favorites to win the Super Bowl. The Steelers have a good offense led by Ben Roethlisberger and a hard hitting defense. There are concerns in the secondary though as Pittsburgh is giving up a lot of yards through the air.

Jets and Packers 8-1
The New York Jets and Green Bay Packers are also serious Super Bowl contenders at 8-1.  The Jets have the great defense but it was the Packers defense that was superb when the two teams met in a 9-0 Green Bay shutout.  The Packers have the better offense with Aaron Rodgers but Green Bay can’t run the ball and it is tough to win by throwing it every down.

Patriots, Colts and Falcons 10-1
All three of these teams have good offense but none of the three have great defenses.  The Patriots have Tom Brady while the Colts have Peyton Manning so you have to like their chances a little better than Atlanta’s.

Other Contenders
The Philadelphia Eagles have looked very good with Michael Vick at quarterback and they might be worth a bet at 20-1 in NFL lines. Tennessee now has Randy Moss and they are an interesting team at 16-1.  The defending Super Bowl champion Saints have played better of late and they are 12-1.  San Diego always makes a late run and their NFL odds are 14-1.
