NFL – Week 2-Seahawks at Packers

As we move into week 2 NFL Regular Season, on Sunday night at 8:35 PM ETwe have the Seahawks of Seattle playing at the Packers of Green Bay.  at the Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin and seen on NBC TV.we have the Seahawks of Seattle playing at the Packers of Green Bay.

The opening odds on the game at SBG Global online sportsbook have the Packers favored at -3 ½ with the Over/under for the game at 49 and -185 on the Money Line, while the Seahawks are the underdogs at +3 ½ and +165 on ML.

This game for the Packers is a must win since last season the Seahawks came from behind an beat Green Bay and went on to play in the Super Bowl. The scenario is somewhat different since Seattle lost its 1st game of this 2015 season.

For the fans of the Seahawks of Seattle the start of their 2015 season was a stunning start, as they came from behind in the 4th quarter to take a 7 point lead with just over 4 minutes left in the game. Here the defense of Seattle could not stop the Rams from moving down the field for a score and the tying the game that went into OT. Finally the Rams kicked a FG in OT to win 34-31.

Supposedly the Seattle pass defense is the best strength, but last Sunday they good not handle the passing game of the Rams. In that game the Seattle defense allowed the Rams some 298 yards passing of which they had a least 8 pass completions for over 20 yards each.

The Seahawks offensive line also struggled in this game as they allowed QB R. Wilson to be sacked a total of six times in that game. However, the Seattle defense against the run performed somewhat better as they only allowed the Rams some 3 yards on each carry. QB Wilson has a good game despite the teams struggling, as he completed 32 of his 41 pass attempts for 252 yards a 1 TD to his new receiver J. Graham who had 6 receptions for 52 yards. QB Wilson believes he can have the same success against the in-experienced Packers secondary.

The Seattle running game could move the ball against the Pack, since they are still having issues with their defensive roster. In their 1st game with Chicago the Pack allowed the Bears some 190 yards rushing.

The history between the Packers and the Seahawks, since Coach Carroll took the helm at Seattle is the Seahawks have 3 wins and 0 losses, but all those games were played in Seattle, and they limited the Green Bay QB Rodgers to just 16.6 points in each of those 3 games.

If you are a fan of the Packers of Green Bay, you know your team did their job in Chicago as they beat the Bears 31-23 in their 1st game of 2015. Your QB Rodgers only had 189 yards passing but completed 18 of his 23 passes for 3 TD’s and also ran for 35 yards in the game in which Green Bay had a total of 133 yards rushing.

A big difference in this game this season against Seattle, is that QB Rodgers is healthy as last year he played with an injured calf muscle which restricted his mobility in that game. Now that he’s healthy he should be able to be a bigger threat to the Seattle defense with his scrambling ability.

Most fans thought that losing WR J. Nelson would be a problem for the Packers offense and QB Rodgers, but that was not the case as he passed to some 5 different receivers in the game who compiled for 18 receptions, while 4 of the 5 receivers caught at least 3 passes in the game. The Packers re-signed receiver J. Jones just last week and in the game he had 4 receptions for 52 yards and scored 2 TD’s.

Since QB Rodgers is healthy and the Seahawks secondary struggling, the Pack should be able to pass with some ease in this game. Last season at home the Packers were 8-0 and scored some 38.3 points each game in 2014.

The prediction for this rivalry game sees the Packers beating the Seahawks with the final score Green Bay 31 and Seattle 28 as the Seahawks return home with a 0-2 record to date!
