Packers and Chiefs Favored to Clash in February Super Bowl LVI

On January 15, 1967, the Green Bay Packers faced the Kansas City Chiefs in the first Super Bowl. Except it wasn’t even called the Super Bowl. Instead, it was called the American Football League vs. National Football League World Championship Game. Then-NFL commissioner Pete Rozelle thought the slang term Super Bowl was beneath the NFL odds event. Fortunately, Chiefs owner and AFL founder Lamar Hunt won out, and Super Bowl became the official term two years later. Now the Super Bowl is the world’s biggest sporting event. Green Bay and KC are favored to meet on February 13.

Super Bowl LVI SBG Odds Overview

Naturally, the Packers and Chiefs are two of the most public teams on the online wagering board. Green Bay and Kansas City are perennial contenders. The Chiefs are aiming for their third straight Super Bowl berth. In comparison, Green Bay has been close but out of Super Sunday for 11 years. Above all, there are several other quality alternatives available.

Green Bay Packers

Not only is Green Bay the top seed in the NFC but a money-making machine with the NFL betting odds. At the beginning are Aaron Rodgers and his 111.1 QB rating. Rodgers has a 35/4 TD/INT ratio. And he has the fire in his eyes to defy his increasing number of critics and win his second Super Bowl title. Equivalent to Rodgers’ importance is an improved defense ranked 7th in the NFL for points allowed.

Kansas City Chiefs

At the onset of the season, Kansas City looked like a team that could miss the playoffs. But over the past two months, the Chiefs found their form. KC has covered five of its most recent seven games. Patrick Mahomes threw for 4839 yards and a 37/13 TD/INT ratio. Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce each cleared 1120 yards receiving. Most important of all, the defense tightened up significantly.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Of course, a defending champion with Tom Brady as the quarterback will generate massive public betting support. But the Buccaneers were inconsistent down the stretch. And the Antonio Brown freak show was an unnecessary distraction at the worst time.

Buffalo Bills

At the beginning of the season, the Bills were a hot item on the futures market. Buffalo has among the best metrics in the NFL. However, they have driven gamblers nuts with inconsistent betting value. Buffalo could be an under-the-radar team saving its best for last.

Los Angeles Rams

On the whole, the acquisition of Matthew Stafford as the quarterback was a proven plus for the Rams. But the Los Angeles defense has dropped significantly compared to 2020. Also, LA has not rushed the ball consistently well. And their betting value remains a disappointment.

Tennessee Titans

Derrick Henry powered the NFL’s 3rd ranked rushing offense. In fact, the ground game covered for inconsistent quarterbacking from Ryan Tannehill. In the 2021 NFL Playoffs, that’s not a winning formula.

Dallas Cowboys

First in the NFL for scoring offense shows the firepower of the Cowboys. It is true that the Dallas defense is improved, but it remains inconsistent.
