Usually, a matchup between the Packers and Chiefs features two of the greatest QBs ever to play. Green Bay’s Aaron Rodgers and Kansas City’s Patrick Mahomes are rewriting their team record books. But a preseason finale matchup means that Rodgers and Mahomes will be held out. Putting them at risk in a meaningless exhibition game would be NFL betting odds insanity. Instead, the Packers and Chiefs will hold virtual tryouts for their final roster spots. And protect key players for their season openers. Kansas City and Green Bay could meet in the Super Bowl next February.

Packers at Chiefs – SBG Odds Overview
Cause by their status as online betting Super Bowl favorites, there won’t be any risk-taking on Thursday. Green Bay and Kansas City have one goal in their matchup. The object of the game is to avoid key injuries. Secondary to that is to make final decisions on their roster spots.
Green Bay Packers Team Overview
Last week the Packers beat the Saints 20-10 as 3-point home favorites. The game went under the total of 37.5. Now Green Bay is 1-1 straight up and against the spread. The Packers are 1-1 over and under the preseason total.
So far, Jordan Love has gotten the vast majority of snaps for the Packers. Aaron Rodgers had been held out of all preseason games. Of course, Love was the Packers’ first pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. And that makes him the heir apparent to Rodgers. Love has a disappointing 65.4 QB rating with three TD passes and three interceptions. He is averaging only six yards per attempt. Of great concern is that Love is in his third NFL season. And he doesn’t seem to be catching on.
Kansas City Chiefs Team Overview
Last week the Chiefs beat the Commanders 24-14 as 5-point home favorites. The game went under the total of 43. The Chiefs are 1-1 straight up and against the spread. Both of KC’s preseason games went under the total.
Patrick Mahomes had a stellar preseason with a QB rating of 133.8. Also, Mahomes threw three TD passes and no interceptions. Mahomes will not likely play at all Thursday night. Shane Buechele has a lackluster 69.4 QB rating with one TD pass and one pick. On the other hand, Buechele leads KC with 41 yards rushing on seven attempts with two first downs. Dustin Crum and Chad Henne have seen limited action at QB.
Packers at Chiefs Against the Spread
Late on, the Packers have covered only one of their last five August matchups. Green Bay has covered five of their most recent seven games against Kansas City. But the Pack has gotten the cash in only two of their most recent seven games. Green Bay went over the total in seven of their most recent ten games.
